Zach's POV
I stayed alone in the library after Klaus and Jonathan left. I was thinking about everything and tried to make sense of things. I asked myself questions but they had no answers; not an answer I could give anyway. I lost track of time thinking and by the time I thought of something better, it was already evening. The me in my dreams had parents but the me here didn't have parents. I grew up with my grandparents but they passed away, so I can't ask them anything about me. There was only one person who could maybe tell me something about me and that was my grandpa's friend. He was old but being a werewolf, he lived longer than my grandparents.
The old man lived somewhere in the city but it was no close to where I lived. I planned to visit him and I could only hope he had some information worth hearing about me.
"Finally!" Klaus exclaimed when I got out of the library. "You sure took your sweet time in there."
I raised a brow at him and then smirked. I was about to retort but my phone started ringing. I started walking to the door and Klaus followed me. I answered the ringing phone without looking at who was calling.
"You won Zachary." A very soft spoken voice said and I couldn't figure out who it was.
I removed the phone from my ear, to check who was calling but it was a new number.
"I left him for you just as you both wanted. You wanted me out of your lives forever so that you live happily together and that is exactly what I did." This time the voice was a bit louder and I recognized the owner as Jonathan.
"What did you do?" I asked because I had a very bad feeling about this call.
"I rejected Cemil, he's all yours now. I suggest you go pick him up now before my elder brothers get home. I hope this is the last time you hear from me."
The call ended when he finished talking. I couldn't move because I was shocked at the news. The guy came here hours ago wanting me to leave Cemil and now he has just called to tell me he left Cemil instead. What happened to make him change his mind like that? My phone started ringing again and this time I checked who it was.
"Hello."
"Cemil is sick. I don't know what to do." Lane cried and I recalled what Jonathan told me.
"I'm on my way, get him ready to leave." I told him and cut the call.
I ran outside to my car so that I could drive out of here and pick Cemil at Jonathan's place. Klaus followed me and jumped inside my car. I didn't say anything because I knew he wouldn't accept to stay, so I started the car and drove away.
It took me forty minutes to reach Jonathan's place and I called Lane to come out because I wasn't allowed to go inside by the guards. Surprisingly, the guards let Lane come out with Cemil and some carried his bags. I had a feeling it was Jonathan who instructed them to let them out without stopping them. The bags were packed in the car and I held Cemil in my arms and sat in the backseat of my car. When we were ready to go, Klaus drove off. Lane was sitting in front with Klaus and it was a quiet journey except of the whimpering sounds that Cemil made.
