Zach's POV
I sighed as I looked at the folders on my desk. So much was going on this time and it was giving me a headache. I've been in my office since I came in the morning. My friends called me to go out for lunch but I refused. I felt that having a break would mess up my train of thoughts and ideas on the current issue.
I looked at the clock and it showed it was the right time for me to leave this place. I've already dismissed my PA and I was sure I was the only person working in the building. I got up and packed some files in my briefcase. After having everything I might need, I left my office and headed to the elevator. My office was on the top floor of the building and this floor had only three main offices. My two best friends were the ones in the other offices.
I stopped walking when I heard voices coming from Charles office. I opened his office door and saw him talking on the phone. There were many files on his desk that even passed the lot that was on mine. He smiled at me when he saw me and continued talking on the phone. I sat down and waited for him to finish the phone call. From the way he talked, I knew he was talking to his dad.
Charles was a werewolf and his father was an alpha. He was not a soon to be alpha though. His elder brother DJ had that title already but Charles was a soon to be CEO of his mother's company. He left the werewolf world to learn how to manage business from me. I was an expert in the field and his parents made a good choice by sending him to me.
"Working late I see." I looked up at Charles when he spoke up. He was done talking on the phone and now was organising the mess on his desk.
"Yeah but so are you, which is a very rare thing to happen." I said and he shrugged. We remained silent with only the papers making sound.
"My little brother is coming to live with me for a while." He said after sometime and I nodded. I guessed that must be what his father was talking to him about. "I'll have to look for a bigger apartment first, so he will be living with my mother's best friend and his family."
"I told you to look for a big apartment but you always refused." I said.
"I had no reason for a big one. This time I have a reason." He said shrugging again.
His little brother was an omega and his parents liked to keep him close. Having to send him here must only mean that things were going bad in the werewolf world. I've known about werewolves since I was little. My great grandfather made an alliance with the werewolf king. Since then, when we need their help, they aid us and we do so when they need our help.
Lately I have been getting reports about missing omegas. We've tried our best to end the problem but it seems things are just getting worse. We haven't figured out who was responsible for the abduction but I knew we were getting close. That was what the folders on my desk were about. I'm trying to figure out this issue and bring an end to it.
My phone suddenly beeped as we were in the elevator. Charles had finished what he was doing and we were leaving the building. I brought it out of my pocket and found a new message. I opened it and my heart started beating fast as soon as I finished reading it.
'Daddy when are you coming home? Mum is here.'"Shit." I breathed out lowly but Charles heard me. He was a werewolf after all.
"What's wrong?"
"Scar is home with Shane." I gritted out in anger.
"Then we better hurry up." He said and as soon as the elevator opened, we rushed out to the car. We got in my car and the driver drove away. The only problem now was the distance from my office to the house. It was a 40 minute drive and it wasn't even 10 minutes but I was fed up already being in it.
