Over the course of five months, Tricia started noticing girls going missing. Or only a few of them returning from cleaning the castle. "Katie... What has happened to the other girls?" Tricia asked snapping Katie out of her trance. "I'm not sure... I suppose they went home. Headmistress doesn't seem to act like she cares that they're going missing." Katie and Tricia both bowed their heads as one of the teachers passed by. Handing a note for Tricia to be reported to the heads office immediately after lunch.
She nervously walked to the office, knocking on the door. "Come in." Came the screechy voice of the head mistress. Tricia entered and immediately found a seat near the desk. "I'd like to discuss with you about possibly helping clean the Valentine castle again. You've been awol every time cleaning day comes. Almost as if you're hiding from it." She'd say. Her glasses hanging from the bridge of her nose. "Oh well you see, the last time I went. There was a very scary looking guy, and I was assigned the master suite and he was there and ..." She was cut off from the headmistress speaking. "Darling, nobody has lived in that castle for milliniums. Not since the brothers and their wives died or left to be on their own. The only one who lives there is the caretaker. And he is quite an old man. He needs the help. And since our girls seem to be running home immediately after lately. I leave it with no choice but for you to step in and help. Is that understood?"
Tricia gulped but nodded in agreement. She was dismissed to return to her room, a letter slipped under her door. She picked it up and read it carefully. She was to report to the castle to help clean tomorrow. She looked out her window. Leaning her head on the glass.
She dozed off and dreamed of the mysterious man. His nose seemed to frame his face perfectly. His lips were pouty and she could see his fangs behind his lips. They danced the waltz. And laughed and talked. His lips touched hers they were soft, warm, and wanting.
The music played softly in the background. The ballroom was golden in color. It looked as though royals danced amongst them. Her eyes searched the shadow for his eyes. But could not see them.
Her door bust open with Katie standing there huffing. Tricia jumped at the sound and fell from the window sill. "Headmistress told me to hurry I'm so sorry" Katie spoke quickly taking Tricia's hand and the two rushed down for dinner.
Dinner went by without chaos and Tricia dragged back to her room. She sat at the window, letting it be open and the moonlight flooding her room. The night air was warm and danced along with the moonlight on her skin. She only had on a baggy shirt that she had brought with her. She stared at the castle.
* with Vladimir*
Vladimir stood at the window, looking to the academy. The butler stood in the doorway. "Shall I prepare a bath?" He asked calmly, Vladimir didn't turn, his eyes glued to the academy. "Yes, please." The butler nodded and turned to prepare the bath for his lordship. Vladimir glanced away and went to the bathroom. He began to strip off his cloths, and he sank into the hot water.
The images of his love sitting just beside the tub, washing his body came to mind. Her touch was always so gentle. She paid special attention to his scars.
He opened his eyes and stared ahead of him. He vowed he would pull the girl close and make her his tomorrow. His eyes began to fall heavy, he lifted himself from the tub and wrapped a towel around his waist. He sighed and made his way to his room where the butler had laid out silky pajamas for him.
He only pulled the bottoms on before plopping down on his bed and falling asleep.
*back at the academy*
Tricia finally stood and crawled onto her bed. She pulled the covers over her head and quietly fell asleep.
