Tricia sat in her room, staring at the half finished art. She flipped through the first three she had done that day. Sighing deeply, she tossed her art book on her couch and climbed into bed.

"He's so frustrating." She groaned softly staring at the ceiling. It was currently 12:45 according to her clock. And she just couldn't will herself to sleep despite needing to be up in the morning. She sighed and sat up in her bed, turned on her phone and stared at the screen picture of her and Matt.

She sighed and her phone beeped with a text from him.

Matt: babe I'm sorry, I miss u so so much. Especially 2nite. My bday n nt a single person said a thing 2 me.

Tricia: you cheated on me, and called me names. We are over. Didn't I make that clear when I have done nothing but ignore you?

Matt: ur a bitch. How can u say u luv me 1 day n h8 me tha next?!

Tricia: are you drunk or high?

Matt: yes.

Tricia: fuck off Matthew! Don't talk to me again!

She shut her phone off and began to cry. She had been with Matt for two years, and he kept treating her like garbage. Unfortunately winter break was coming up and she was going to be returning home. She sighed maybe, I'll just stay here... She knew it'd cost her parents a great deal. She made up her mind that she'd stay at the school for the whole winter break.

The next morning Tricia woke up early and made her way to the dining room, sitting in her usual spot Katie was unusually quiet. "You ok?" Tricia asked her worry lining her voice. Katie looked up to her. "Yeah just dreading the exams today. I've never been a good test taker, and I was up all night studying." Now that she mentioned it she looked very tired. Tricia nodded. "Exams aren't hard you're psyching yourself out. You got this!" Tricia said giving a thumbs up. Katie smiled and hugged her friend. "Thank you." She smiled again

The day went by faster than usual and the two decided to share a room for the next two nights. Studying harder than usual for all the exams.

The week passed by quickly. By Friday the girls were thankful it was over for a bit. Katie was in her room packing cloths. Tricia leaned against the door. "Are you sure you don't want to go home with me for Christmas?" Katie asked for the eighth time that day. Tricia nodded and smiled "yeah. I'm just gonna walk around the village and be lazy for the next two weeks. No big deal." Katie nodded and sighed heaving her bag up. "Well if you change your mind, I left my number on your desk. Just call I'll have someone come get you." She smiled warmly. And Tricia nodded.

The two bid their goodbyes and Tricia sat in her window sill staring off at the castle. "Hey..." Came a voice from under her. Looking down she saw Vincent, and tensed up slightly. "What do you want?" She'd ask and he shrugged "to come up and hang out? Or you could come out and sit under the old willow tree." He smiled and flashed a set of pearly whites. She looked up at the castle again, to which Vincent noticed. "Oh don't worry about ol Vlad. He won't mind." Vincent said sweetly. It's not like he's going to care I'm sure... And it's still on public grounds... Sort of. She sighed and looked to him again. "I'll be down in a minute." She said pulling her window shut and leaving her room. She met him out by the willow tree and sat on the bench next to him.

He watched her and scuffed his shoe in the snow. "So I noticed you like to draw... Might I ask what kind of art you do?" He finally spoke up. "I just draw whatever I see. I'm not some famous artist. And my art isn't that great." She'd say and glance at the castle again. "You like him don't you?" Vincent watched her and she took a deep breath in. "No... He's a model for my art work that's all."

Vincent seemed to perk up. "Can I model?" He sounded so excited to be drew on paper. She was at a loss for an answer. "If not that's ok too. I just thought it'd be fun. I know my brother is generally the more handsome one." He frowned at her and she took another deep breath in. "I suppose I could use another model. It's not like I can just go to the castle every day." He tilted his head "it's winter break..." She'd say and he half nodded.

She stared at him for the longest time. "So there's nobody here at the school right now?" "Well the maids and cook are, everyone else went home." He looked slightly disappointed that she wasn't alone. But they were alone under the tree. He leaned over and touched her face. "Vlad doesn't deserve someone so beautiful..." Her eyes glazed over and he pulled her into a kiss.

He purred as he locked his lips on hers. Tasting her kiss. Tricia snapped back into reality and pulled back, her hand making contact with his face. Skin on skin was heard as it echoed in the court yard. Tricia hopped up and ran into the house back to her room.

She locked herself in her room and sat on the window sill, window closed she stared at the barely seen castle. It was beginning to snow harder than before. She gave up trying to see the castle and curled into bed for a nap.
