Vladimir reached the cabin, freezing half way up the steps. It was unmistakable, her scent filled his nose. His fangs sharpened to points. He opened the door to find nothing. His brother lay on the floor. Not breathing not moving. He looked around for any sign that she was still there, coming up empty handed.
Suddenly his brother burst into flames, quickly turning to ash. It seemed like the wind picked the ash up and blew it in the direction he needed. Vladimir walked out the door and took a breath in of the air. Her scent lead him to the village. Many of the people had returned to their jobs and walked the streets. Children played in the snow as well.
He looked around but couldn't latch onto her scent. Like a sudden pen drop, a loud shriek came from a back ally. Vladimir rushed to check it out. A body. A child's body at that. And he caught her scent. It was headed towards the castle. "Oh hell no." Vladimir growled and took off in a sprint. He could hear the maids screaming, standing in the middle of the room.
"Sarah..." Rolled off his tongue like it was nothing. She turned and stared at him. Her nails were sharpened to fine points, her body covered in blood. A couple of maids were dead behind her. "V... Vl... Vla..." She couldn't speak his name, her voice croaked on it.
Something bad was about to happen, he could feel it. He had two concerns at that moment. Tricia and the fact Sarah would probably kill her.
"Sarah, it's me." He stepped closer, prompting her to glare at him. "It's ok. I'm here now." Again another step, this time she hissed at him. And disappeared up the stairs.
Tricia was in the master suite. Her arm bandaged and fixed up. Victor sitting beside her. He stood immediately at the presence heading quickly for them. The sounds of his brother pleading. "What's wrong?" Tricia croaked out. "Sh, don't say a word." Doors began to slam shut.
Vladimir flew through the double doors, landing with a painful grunt. Victor managed to dodge his brother. But was shocked at who stood before him. "Sarah?" He managed, as his brother scurried to hold Tricia close.
With a flick of her wrist, Victor got thrown into the closet. Sarah moved in a swift motion and stopped an inch from Tricia's face. Fangs sharpened, her blue eyes a piercing blue. Vladimir was thrown from her side.
Sarah wrapped her fingers around Tricia's throat and lifted her up into the air. Tricia gasped for air as the fingers tightened around her throat. "Your blood smells so delicious." Sarah croaked out. Getting an inch from Tricia's neck and licking it gently.
Tricia's heart raced from fear, her blood pumping faster. Sarah's core dripped down her legs, she was excited. Vladimir slipped in and out of consciousness. Victor growled and stayed pinned to the wall. "Don't do it Sarah! You'll regret it!" Victor growled out, squirming to get free.
Sarah licked Tricia's neck again, tasting her blood. Before she could sink her teeth in. Victor broke free and tackled her out the window.
Tricia dropped to the bed and coughed gasping for as much air could fill her lungs. She'd rush to Vladimir's side and held him gently.
*later*
Vladimir startled awake. His head slamming into Tricia's. She groaned rubbing her head, he looked around for any signs of danger. But none seemed present. The pain throbbed into his head and he groaned holding his head. "Yeah, that's what I said." Tricia grumbled, Vladimir sighed and looked around. The window had been boarded up to keep the cold out. "Are you ok?" He'd ask turning to her. "Aside from my head throbbing now yes." She stood and walked to the bathroom. The bath had hot water filled within it. She pulled her cloths off and climbed in. Enjoying the hot water.
Vladimir walked in and sighed. His nose had bled slightly, and he was bruised against his ribs and back. Tricia hugged her knees to her chest. "I'm so sorry." She whimpered softly tears coming to her eyes. Vladimir stopped examining himself and looked to her. "Sorry for what? It's not your fault this happened. And whoever that was? Was not Sarah." He was lying not only to her, but to himself also. Tricia would be due back in the school in two days. He wondered how he would keep her safe from that imposter vampire coming after her.
