Chapter 4: The Howl

Leah's POV

I completely looked up, listening to a howl. Seth? I came rushing towards him, please be alright. Seth was near, I can already smell his scent. He was rushing towards me. He huffed and puffed.

“What’s wrong? Did he attack you?” as I growled.

“I…i…need..” still huffing.

I was already losing my patients with him. “Well? Spit it out! What did the wolf do?”

“I need to tell Jake quick.” He said. “Leah we got it all wrong.”

As I read his mind and saw what his seen. I was shocked myself. We ran towards Jake and the others. Jake and Sam gather a meeting at Billy place. The sun was setting yet we argued for a solution.

“We must take action and question her?” Sam said.

“But if we do that, she will fight back. We must be careful and make her feel welcome.” Jake said.

“We are not bringing an outsider into our tribe.” Sam snapped at him.

“She may be lost, Sam. She doesn’t seem like a threat if you asked me.” Jake replied.

I rolled my eyes, really action? We can’t scare her off. We’ve already done that.

“Hey Embry, another female in the area. Perhaps this one will be nice, unlike Leah.” Quil said.

“Ya, maybe she’ll be a hot smoking” Embry replied as they both laughed.

“Watch it.” As I gave Embry and Quil a snarled look while getting angry.

“Cool it, Leah.” Jake said.

“Hey stop picking on Leah, only reason she is annoyed is because of you idiots.” Seth said as he stood in front of me.

I was glad Seth was with me but I don’t know how the others will take it once Seth tells them what his seen. Okay we got the wolf scent wrong. It’s a female shape-shifter. For some reason, I was relieved, I’m not the only female shape-shift but I can’t let my guard down just because she’s another female wolf. Suddenly, Charlie arrives, looks like his on duty. Everyone stopped arguing when we saw the car pulled over. He got out of his car and walked towards Jake, asking if Billy was home.

“His inside, is something wrong?” Jake said

We all looked worried and confused. Why would Charlie come to La-push in the middle of the night? Everyone stood quiet until Seth finally showed Jake what his seen. Jake expression changed, worried to furious.

“Why didn’t you tell us earlier, Seth?!” Jake yelled at him

“It wasn’t his fault! He was going to tell you but these two idiots interrupted him” as I snapped at Jake while I pointed at Embry and Quil.

“What did we do??” while they both said at the same time.

“What’s wrong? What did you see?” Sam said as he looked more serious than ever.

Jake was lost with words, he didn’t know how to start.

“Seth saw the wolf. And…”

“And what?” Sam responds quickly

“She was  ...covered..in blood…and taken a human ..with her” Jake said it in the most slow respond ever.

“WHAT!?” Sam and Paul respond in an outraged.

Paul looked at Seth with ferry.

“How was that not the most important news!? Who cares if she’s a female shape-shift? What if she’s hunting humans! Why didn’t you stop her?!” as he approached Seth face. I got in between them and shoved him off.
