Chapter 25: Meeting The Cullens finally

Kris’s POV

It was almost 6:30pm, I wanted to walk and think this through but Alice was very well convincing to drive there. I even forgot Edward drove to school today as usual. We went through separate cars of course and finally got to Edward’s house. By my surprise it was very large and graceful looking, rectangular and well perfect in every angle. The color was painted faded white. The southern wall is almost entirely made of glass, with a view of the Calawah river. Very modern and open, is he this rich? I thought to myself.

He finally parked the car. “it’s the only place we can be ourselves”. He said

“…Your family?” I said

He nodded as we got out the car together.

I looked at his house and then at his door, I gulped at the thought of his family disapproving my existing in their eyes. If I were human, possibly be a chance of staying with him. I am human? Just part wolf… my heart ache at the thought of losing Edward forever…  He held my hand as I came to my senses.

“My family will see how much you are important to me” he whispered in my ears as if he knew what I was thinking

I looked and nodded, trying to be confident as ever. Then Alice playfully bumped into me as she giggled through the doorsteps.

“Here, Kris let me get that for you?” as she open the door for us

“Get a whiff at that?” A blond girl has spoken as I see them all in the kitchen, cooking.

“We didn’t know what kind of food you like so we pretty much made Italian pasta” an older woman with brown hair had said. “Where are my manners?” She smiled softly “I’m Esme, nice too finally meet you, Kris?” she shook my hand. “This is my lovely husband, Carlisle” a tall man with blond hair nodded and approach me, giving me a warm welcome hand shake. He looked familiar, where have I seen him before? Oh! That’s right, his Conner’s doctor.

“I think we’ve met before but haven’t introduced ourselves. Nice to meet you as well Kris” Carlisle said “Looks, like you’ve finally met my daughter Alice and my son Jasper?” he smiled

I nodded as I stood beside Edward.

A big guy with muscles headed towards me and shook my hand strongly. “Well, I’m glad you don’t smell like a mutt.” He chuckled

I grabbed my hand back and stood behind Edward.

“Oh no! I didn’t mean it like that” he said

“That’s Emmett, my other brother.” Edward said as he looked displeased

“Of course he meant it.” The blond woman has finally spoken as she stood beside Emmett giving me a disgust look.

Edward sign “and that’s Rosalie”

I looked around, ignoring her rude remark. The inside was very open and bright, with a wide central staircase to the left. The raised area has a grand piano in the center to the right as well as what it seems to be a rarely used dining room and kitchen.

I came back to my senses when the blond girl, Rosalie handed me a food plate that seemed to be of a doggy’s plate. I looked at it and looked at her. Everyone became silent, even Alice stopped

smiling. Nothing but the wind made noises through the cracks beneath the door. I dropped the dog plate on the ground as the food clash all over the floor. I didn’t care for their expression. I headed for the door and ran as fast as I could and formed. I was only for a mockery, a toy, laughter towards their cruel joke. My wolf whimpered, I will never amount their true effort of acceptance. To them, I’m just a dog… a mutt… I’m not even human in their eyes.

Suddenly, I heard them chasing after me. I didn’t look back only getting ready to jump the creek that stood between Forks and La-Push but I stopped… because Edward was in front of me...

His face expression changed, he walked slowly towards me and held his hand on my snout. Looking deep within my eyes, he knew tears overflowed us both.

“I’m sorry… if only I knew that was coming. I would have stopped it instantly.” He said

I was about to form back into my human self when all of a sudden, out of nowhere, Jacob, Leah and Seth appeared in their wolf forms...waiting…watching. Leah snapped her teeth at Edward. Giving him a fair warning, it angered me more to see her threating my mate. But I told my wolf to calm down. I don’t want them to harm him. Perhaps to see if Edward tries to attack me, they’ll be ready to jump the other side. Not caring if they start a war or not. I looked at Edward with forgiveness as he looked at them and back at me. Alice and Jasper waited for Edward’s return while they kept their distance. I made a quick decision and leaped over the creek to meet up the pack and headed home.

However, Jacob stayed behind, should I stop? I looked backed at him but Seth nudged me to go. 

Leah’s POV

“Do you smell that Seth?” as I left my head sniffing the air. “It’s coming close?” Jacob and I looked at each other I knew the answer right away. We ran towards the creek where the treaty stood.

I finally see Kris running, why is she running so fast? What is she running from? She looks scared as hell. I wanted to jump over to see why Kris is like this. But Jacob gave orders to stay put. I looked more closely to see what she was running from? I growled beneath my teeth… but Jacob told us to stay put.

“Jacob! It’s not use, she won’t make it in time!” I said to him

“I said to stay put, Leah!” Jacob yelled back. 

I was readying myself to attack those leaches…  “ C’on, Kris? Hurry up and jump over”

I growled even louder, that leach…who does he think he is? I snapped my teeth at him to let her through. I don’t care if he crosses the line, I will break this damn treaty. Finally, Kris jumped over. Jacob said to go right ahead, he’ll be talking to Edward privately. I nodded and headed home with Kris but she stopped. Kris is finally safe, she shouldn’t worry about this sort of war

between The Cullens and The pack, and she’s been through a lot. I’ll make her dinner once we get home.

Jacob’s POV

I finally waited till they were gone. I stood tall and firm looking at him. “Why were you chasing, Kris?”

There was something strange about him this time… He gulped for an answer as if he has a heart to breath. Psh…he can stop the act of being human. I snarled at his faked act.

“I wanted to apologize to her, I will never… hurt Kris…” Edward words came out more slowly

“You didn’t answer my question, why were you chasing her?” I said it more stern

“We were only welcoming her!” as she smiled.

“Alice, of course you would be near. I bet Jasper is right behind you.” I said

Edward looked at her and shook his head

“This isn’t the right place to talk about it” Edward said to her as she kept she became silent

“Oh I know, Edward.” She smiled “We did nothing wrong, Jacob. She just got spooked.” Alice smiled innocently

There up to something or hiding something. Welcoming her? I don’t believe that one bet.

“Why are you so interested in Kris all of a sudden? Look, I know she’s going to your school and all but that’s only because of the human girl, Conner. If you hurt Kris, you and I will have a serious problem” I told them.

Epically him. I walked away … Kris will needs to stay with us for awhile.
