Kris’s POV
Conner couldn’t stop smacking her lips at me from the distance of the cafeteria as she grabbed her lunch. Gosh that girl couldn’t get weirder by the minute. I rolled my eyes playfully. Suddenly this unfamiliar scent rose against me. Where is this scent coming from?
I looked carefully left and right not to cause a scene. Only a glanced was all that I needed. Watching, carefully through the window, they all walked in, 5 creatures. They weren’t human but they weren’t like the pack in La-push. Across from the table they all stood staring at me. Was I being threatened? What kind of creatures were they? Their scent grew stronger, my inner wolf wanted to form quickly, out of fear, out of protection but it was hard maintain myself.
Looking back again, a man with golden eyes stared deep into mine. I tried to calm my breath and still was curious among this creature. Though, he look like a man, yet he had no beating heart.
His skin was pale like snow; the atmosphere grew colder, as though death was by their side. He wasn’t the only creature.
A girl with brown short hair stood closely towards a boy who looked like he was in pain. I heard a slightly hiss, beneath his lips while she told him to calm down. I was worried about him the most than the others.
The built one next to the blond woman looked like the strongest in the group as for the boy who was staring at me… he couldn’t take his eyes off me. I felt unease. I felt unsafe. I felt scared. . Wasn’t too long when I noticed Conner was about to be in danger..from me.
Before Conner was about to sit down, I simply grabbed my things and left quickly.Conner looked confused and chased after me.
I couldn’t make it to the parking lot, so decided to hit through the woods.“Conner get back!” as I yelled, trying not form, stopping myself, away from the school, away from everyone, and away from Conner. I can already feel the heat rising, my bones started to stretch even wider, breaking my human bones and replacing them. It was massively taken over. The thought of hurting Conner made my wolf calmed down immediately, imagining her blood stains running through my teeth. Please don’t let it be like before, I told myself.
Quickly clasping to the ground, Conner toke each step carefully and ran towards me since I wasn’t moving.
“Are..you alright?” she said as she came down on her kneesI looked at her..she was safe after all. I smiled softly ..as I try to catch my breath. I can sense the boy was near, watching me, watching us from the distance but I couldn’t see him nor could I care as long as Conner was safe.
Conner came back with a small blanket she had saved in her car. Wrapping it around me as we sat quietly in the woods.
“I’m sorry…” looking down
With a sudden surprise, she hugged me tightly. “I’m just glad you’re safe, Kris.” She whispered
“Why ..didn’t you stay away? I could’ve ...” I looked at her quickly
“Because I know you wouldn’t hurt me” she smiled
He was still watching us. Was he listening to our conversation? What is his waiting for?
---The Cullens---
“Alice? What’s wrong? ” Jasper replied as her hand slipped away from him. She looked to the side, deep into the shadowy forest as they drove into Fork. Alice couldn’t quite figure it out, but Forks wasn’t the same anymore.
Approaching the drive way of their old home, they quickly unpacked, turned on the lights and cleaned up the place, yet Alice still felt the town strange.Alice looked at Edward quickly and without any hesitation, everyone knew the answer. This unfamiliar scent, left one strange answer.
“Mutts?” Rosalie hissed the words “with horrid smell roaming around.”
