Chapter 24: Passion

Kris’s POV

I looked at her as she came out of the woods. For some reason, Edward was my only protection from her.

“My…my…you two really have gotten serious. Haven’t you?” She giggled

“Alice. What are you doing here?” he said

“Alice?” I questioned

“Where’s Jasper? I know he wouldn’t let you come alone.” He said to her as she points above the trees.

“I reassure you, he won’t harm Kris and knowing she is part wolf, he had to follow me after all.” she simply smiled.

I looked into the trees while Edwards stood still watching Alice, I wanted to see where he stood from above. Quickly, I spotted him right off the bat. His face seemed scared and alerted, I looked into his eyes… I looked away… he seemed ready to attack… I wanted to run…

“Don’t be afraid” Edward whispered in my ear as I came back to my senses.

I kept his word…but my wolf couldn’t take it anymore, I never been this close to them. I gripped on his hands tightly and steady, trying to calm my wolf.

Edward looked at me scared; he knew if I formed, Jasper would attack.

“Jasper get down, you scaring the poor thing...” Alice said to him

He got down immediately and stood by her side. “Can you change her mood, Jasper?” Alice said

I looked back into his eyes, his face expression was different but all we did was stared at each other for the past 3mins. I looked back down. “Why is he staring at me?” I told Edward

 Edward looked at them and shooked his head. “It won’t work on her, Jasper.”

He tiled his head as Edward explained his special ability to me.

“Remember when I told you we all have gifts, I can read minds, Alice can see the future. Well, Jasper has the ability to both feel and manipulate the emotions of those around him.” He said

“Apparently …his ability doesn’t work on you.”

“Is that a bad thing?” I said to Edward

“Strange…” Jasper finally spoke

“You mean interesting?” Alice said with a soft smile

I took a couple of deep breaths and steady my wolf within me. Somewhat my wolf was calm, when Edward was near. Alice took a step closer as Jasper followed. I never once moved away from Edward as they both kept taken slow paces.

They both waited for me.

“They won’t hurt you… they know how much you are important to me.” Edward said to me as he turned around to look how I was doing.

I nodded “..okay”

I came around Edward to face them both, knowing Edward was behind me, I knew nothing would happened.

For the first time, I greeted them, their pale faces and cold skins reminded me of Edward.

“Hello Kris, I’m Alice” as we shook hands.

“You know me already?” I said to her

“Oh! Edward's right. You don’t smell badly as those dogs in La-Push.”

I couldn’t tell if she insulted me or not. I looked at her oddly

“Alice…” Edward shook his head as if please don’t say that.

“I’m Jasper, nice to finally meet you Kris”. He nodded

We didn’t shake hands after that incident. Why would I shake hands with a guy who was about to attack me, from above!? I thought to myself, it wouldn’t make sense with a simple safe greeting. He knows…and I know…neither of us is safe around each other. As long as I’m with Edward and his with Alice nothing will go wrong. I nodded to myself.

“So, why are you really here, Alice?” Edward finally spoke

Whenever his around me, he can’t read others minds. I do feel bad sometimes.

She put her hands on her hips. “I just wanted to see my kid brother girlfriend. No harm to it” she smiled

“…and?” Edward knew that wasn’t the answer

“and …her future…I guess. I thought with a simple ‘touch’, I can see her future.” Alice said to him

“..and did you?” Edward looked at her closely

“Sadly, no… but I did felt a good presence” She giggled

I still had no idea what they were talking about. My future?

“Does Carlisle know you’re here?” Edward said

“Well…no but, we did leave a note.” She said

“A note?” Edward responded

She nodded as she smiled softly. She then changed the subject quickly. “So, what about The Voulturi?”

“The what?” I looked confuse as if I pretended to not know.

“Oh, come on silly.” She giggled “I overheard your conversation, about the human girl knowing your secret.”

I gulp at the thought. I had no idea they were listening that long.

“She didn’t know any better.” Edward defending me as he locked eyes with Jasper

“Don’t worry! You’re secrete is safe with us.” She winked at me

Is it just me or does Alice seemed overly happy about this.

“What are you plans afterwards, Kris?” Alice said with delight

I tried to fine words …but I couldn’t find any excuse. I had a feeling she was up to something. Edward had a feeling as well.

“What did the note say?” Edward said to her

“Honestly Edward, don’t you have faith in me?” She smirked

“Alice?... what did you put on the note?” He raised his eyebrows at her

She sign …”We’ll be having company soon, a very special company. That’s all it said” She looked at us, still cheerful as ever.

Did…she just invited me? To there house!? I just got in trouble by telling Conner everything, now I am going to be food by them? No… Edward wouldn’t do that. He would protect me. Even by…his family? I looked more scared. What if they can’t accept me? If I were human…maybe

I looked up at Edward, he seemed angrier than I am. If only Jasper ability worked… maybe I should step away and watch him control Edward behavior.

I gently grabbed Edward’s chin and looked into his eyes. “It’s no big deal. Yes I am terrified as hell.” I laughed it out “..but I’m here with you, you won’t leave by my side and whatever happens, happens. I’m glad that it lasted for a while…and I’m glad I met you...Edward Cullen”  

“Are you sure?” He looked at me deeply

I nodded as we both kissed patiently

“Let’s go meet your family” I said to him as he kissed me one last time
