A/N Warning feels ahead. Damasen and Bob are mentioned.
Apollo's point of view
"Perseus." Athena suggested.
"M-me?" Percy stammered
Athena rolled her eyes and said, "Yes you, unlike some of us you would put what needs to be done ahead of your own desires, you are loyal kind modest, and will make the best king. Sometimes those who do not wish for power are best suited to have it."
Percy said, "Would you not be better suited..."
Athena cut him off saying, "Although my wisdom would be of great use in such a position, as much as I hate to admit it, I have occasionally allowed my pride to overrule my better judgement. You would be better suited for the position than I. Feel free to ask my advice if you need it though."
We all stared at her stunned that she would admit to letting her pride get the better of her.
"All in favor of Perseus becoming the new king?" Athena stated snapping us out of our reverie.
Most of us raised our hands. Athena said, "Perseus are you willing to take on this role?"
Percy nodded I guess he resigned himself to the fact that most of us thought he was the best person for the job.
"It's settled then Perseus will be the new king." Athena said.
After she said that Percy's throne switched places with my father's while Hades' moved to Poseidon's right. My father's throne ended up on the end of the row where Percy's had been.
After that Percy said, "Now that that's over with Meeting dismissed."
After the words left his mouth the majority of us left.
Percy's point of view
After I ended the meeting almost everyone left except my dad and me. He walked over to me and he said, "I wasn't expecting that."
Slightly amused I said, "Everyone has a bad side Zeus just discovered mine."
My dad chuckled before saying, "Can we talk, there is something I've been meaning to ask you, besides you should probably tell your mother that you plan to marry."
I nodded and said, "Your palace then?"
My dad nodded and we teleported to his undersea palace.
When we got there we were in the throne room. My mom was there, and when we got there she walked over to us.
Dad filled her in on what happened during the meeting, and then I asked him "What did you want to talk to me about?"
He replied, "I Heard what Tartarus said to you when he captured Luke and your friends, I also saw how you reacted. Have you ever told anyone what happened to you in Tartarus?
I shook my head and not looking at them I said, "No, after we came back I couldn't bring myself to talk about it. I thought I had put it behind me, but Kronos and Tartarus brought it back up again."
My dad said, "So you and that Athena spawn are the only ones who know what happened to you down there?"
I replied, "There is one other who knows most of what happened to us down there, He saved our lives so many times, We would never have made it out of there alive without him."
"Who?" My father asked
I Replied, "The titan Ipeatus, or how he prefers to be known these days Bob."
"He helped you?" my dad said surprised
I said, "Yes after he fell in the Lethe he stayed at Hades' palace, I didn't know it then but Hades treated him like a servant. Nico would visit him, and he would tell him that I was a friend even though I never visited him. To be honest I kind of forgot about him. When Annabeth and I were down there she asked me what name I had given him after he came out of the Lethe, when I answered her he must have heard me somehow, because the next time we were in danger he came out of nowhere and saved us.
He saved us so many times and he and Damasen sacrificed themselves so we could escape through the doors of death."
"Damasen?" My father questioned not recognizing the name.
I answered, "He was a giant, he never fought in the first war because instead of being like his siblings he was the exact opposite of the god he was meant to oppose."
"Who was he supposed to....?" My dad asked trailing off.
I replied, "He was supposed to oppose Ares, but he ended up being as close to peaceful as a giant can get. Because of that he saved the life of a mortal from the Maeonian drakon. As is probably obvious Gaea and Tartarus weren't pleased by that, and they imprisoned him in Tartarus, He was cursed to fight The Maeonean drakon again every day. Annabeth convinced him to fight his fate and try and escape with us. He died fighting his own father so we could escape."
Once I started talking about it the rest of the story just flowed out of me like water from a tap. Once I had finished I realized that it felt kind of good to have finally let that out. It felt like the burden of the sky had been lifted from my shoulders, and I know what that feels like. I had tried to make the story seem less horrific than it really was, but that was kind of hard considering everything we went through down there.
When I saw my parents' expressions I sighed internally. I said, "Mom, Dad keep in mind that happened years ago, I'll be fine, and there was no way either of you could have prevented it."
I could tell that they were reluctant to believe that, and that they wished that they could have done something to prevent all the horrors that I had faced down there.
I finally got the subject changed, and we talked about unimportant things for a while until my father said, "Wasn't there something you were going to tell your mother, she deserves to know after all."
I nodded and said, "Mom there is something I need to tell you. You deserve to know since I will probably announce it to the council soon." My mom looked at me curiously waiting to hear what I had to tell her.
I said, "Mom I plan to Marry."
Confused she asked "Who? You haven't been with anyone that we know of since..."
she trailed off but I said, "Since the mortal I fell for twelve years ago. She is who I plan to marry, Amber Smith, The clear sighted mortal who I never got over, even after twelve years.
I have lied and kept up a façade in order to conceal the fact that I never got over her, but there were two people I couldn't fool. Aphrodite knew the truth, and I told Luke the truth the first time I visited him, although I think that even when I kept up the façade when we were around other people he could still tell."
Dad said, "I think we should meet this woman before we let him go through with this. Don't you Agree Sally?"
My mom just nodded in agreement, I think we have both figured out that if dad gets something like that in his head, it's best to just go along with it instead of arguing with him.
