Luke's point of view
After I spun around I realized who I had nearly stabbed and quickly apologized. I said, "Sorry Dad"
he seemed slightly amused when he said: "its fine Luke I startled you." He continued and said, "I figured I'd find you here, this is where I always went when I needed time to think. What's on your mind?"
I answered, "Everything, one minute I was a normal kid..."
"The next your life was turned upside down once you learned of me and camp." My dad finished for me.
I nodded, he continued. He said "I understand Luke, after all, I went through the same thing.
When I first learned that my father was Poseidon, I was angry at him at first for not helping or visiting us, just like you were. But I eventually understood that he couldn't have visited me and that he did care about us. I was honestly surprised that you accepted me so quickly."
During my time at camp I had realized that I was really lucky when it came to my parentage. Most of the gods don't pay that much attention to their kids Ares usually only acknowledges his when they do something impressive in battle or get a quest or something like that, most of the gods hardly ever visit their children, I know that part of the reason for that is the ancient laws but some of the gods just don't visit their kids that much.
My dad has more freedom from the ancient laws and visits quite often, not to mention he has some pretty cool powers. Not only that but he is a really nice guy, and I know that he cares about me a lot. When I looked over at him he seemed to be staring at nothing in particular lost in thought. I got the feeling that he was remembering his past when he was a demigod. I said, "Dad,"
trying to get him to snap out of it. Once he did we talked for a while longer and then he left. It would soon be time for dinner anyway.
Percy's point of view
After returned to my palace I wasn't sure what I wanted to do, I channel surfed Hephaestus tv for a bit but I didn't really see anything I felt like watching. I was thinking that if the battle is taking place in Manhattan, like it did during the second Titan war, we would need to find some way to keep mortals from getting hurt and prevent them from figuring out what is really happening.
In a way Kronos slowing time and putting the mortals to sleep protected them from the war that was going on. I suppose we might be able to do something similar, but I don't know if we would be powerful enough, after all as much as we may hate to admit it the Titans are still very powerful and we may not be strong enough to keep up something like that and fight at the same time.
It was at this point when my thoughts were interrupted by another god appearing in the room. Normally it is still polite to knock instead of teleporting right in, but I decided not to comment, especially when I didn't even recognize the god that was in front of me.
He definitely wasn't one of the other Olympians nor was he any of the minor gods that I knew. Unlike most of the gods I had met he actually looked old, he actually did look old and tired. I would never believe that he was a god if it wasn't for the fact that I could sense it, well that and the fact that he had just teleported into my palace. I stood up unsure what to say and he spoke. he said, "I am Cronus, I am nearly ready to fade. I have come to give the last of my power to you. You are the only one I trust with this power, and since you already have the domain of time you already know how to control it. however this will give you a greater knowledge of your domain, as well as some new abilities that you will have to discover on your own."
I finally managed to speak and I said, "I am honored, but why me?"
He answered, "Time needs to be controlled by one who doesn't have a thirst for power, considering all you have done so far in your life, and that you already have it as one of your domains you are the only one I trust to wield such power and not misuse it.
I also have a warning for you, you are already aware that there are two Titans remaining in Tartarus's forces? I nodded and he continued, he said "one of them is Kronos, my nephew, and the only other being with the domain of time. You will face him in the upcoming battles, I can't say for certain when you will face him but be warned that you will."
He spoke again he said, "Now it is time, I must fade."
I dipped my head solemnly and said, "Very well, I release you I hope you find peace."
He had a hand on my shoulder as his remaining power seeped into me until he faded to nothing and I was alone in the room once again. After it was over I really didn't feel that different but I did understand my domain even more than before, not that I didn't understand it to begin with, I just got an even greater knowledge of it, I would have to play around with my powers to see what new abilities he was talking about.
I figured I'd better summon the council and inform them of the news, I wouldn't bother except I think Zeus would have a fit if I don't. Either way they need to know about Kronos and they would want to know how I found out about him. So I might as well just summon another meeting and tell them everything. I teleported to the throne room where I tapped Riptide on the floor to summon the rest of the council, once everyone was there Zeus asked,
"Why did you call this meeting Nephew?"
