Luke's point of view
After the battle started I was fighting for my life, I slashed my sword through a hellhound, fought and eventually defeated a dracna. After that I defeated a telekhine. The enemy army also contained Laistrygonian giants and enemy demigods.
Any time I faced another demigod I wouldn't kill them just knock them out. The worst part though was the giant towering over the two armies. I had been told that each giant was made to oppose a different god, based on what this giant looked like I would guess that he is the bane of my grandfather Poseidon god of the seas.
Twice the armies stopped fighting to watch my father fight the stronger members of the enemy army. We watched as he battled and defeated the titan Hyperion. He then headed toward one of the minor goddesses who had sided with our enemies. But to everyone's surprise they never fought it seemed that they were talking and then my father put her in celestial bronze handcuffs and led her off to the side of the battle. I was surprised when he headed toward one of the enemy demigods. Judging by the look on his face he knew her, but how he knew her I had no idea.
I thought she was toast a demigod fighting a god, I thought she had no chance. But judging by her appearance she was a daughter of Athena and when they started fighting I was surprised when she did pretty well against my dad it was like she knew his moves and he knew hers. He eventually caught her by surprise and disarmed her.
The dagger she had been using fell to the ground, but she pulled out a strange sword that looked to be made out of some kind of bone. My dad disarmed her and put regular steel handcuffs on her. And took her aside to where he had left the goddess. We all resumed fighting I knocked out a demigod, killed a dracna a cyclops just about nailed me with its club but slowed time just enough to avoid the blow and then I returned time to normal and killed the creature.
As I fought I sometimes noticed some of my allies fall either injured or worse. Once I noticed that my dad had left but he wasn't gone long. After he came back he headed toward the giant. I had been told that only a god and demigod working together could defeat a giant so I began to follow him. I notice that Christina was also following him. Her boyfriend Nathan was following her. She walked over to me she said, "Stay out of this Luke it's too dangerous for you."
I replied, "I'll be fine I want to help Dad."
She continued to argue but I just continued walking toward my father and the giant. The giant was distracted talking to my dad so I ran over killing monsters as I went and when I got there I stabbed the giant in the leg. In retaliation the giant swung his trident toward me. I rolled out of the way before I could get stabbed. Just after this Christina and Nathan caught up to me. When Dad noticed us I think he would have had a heart attack if he could have. He was at his full godly height, I think he wanted to tell us to leave and go back to fighting the monsters and didn't want us to get hurt fighting the giant.
I guess when he realized we weren't going to leave he didn't look happy and suddenly I felt a presence in my mind. I heard my dad's voice in my head. He said, "Don't use your water powers on him, he turns water to poison."
I'm assuming that he must have contacted Christina and told her the same thing. He probably contacted us that way so the giant wouldn't know that he was giving us pointers.
I decided to switch weapons I stepped away from the giant and turned my sword back into a ring, and my shield back into a watch. I pulled my bow off my back and nocked an arrow, I'm not the best archer but my new bow definitely improved my accuracy. I let the arrow fly toward the giant, but he saw it coming and somehow he caught it. When he looked down it was pretty obvious who had shot it since I was the only one fighting him who was holding a bow.
He threw the arrow aside and swung his trident at me again. I was about to drop my bow and roll out of the way again when his trident stopped midswing, I knew that there was only one way for it to stop like that. I glanced in Christina's direction to see her just as surprised as I was. But then again I was pretty sure that it would take more energy than either of us had to stop the trident like that so all of our eyes were suddenly on dad. I moved out of the way of the strike and dad let his control over time around the trident stop and it swung through the space where I had just been. The giant said, "protecting the boy are you Jackson"
my dad didn't say anything in response he just had that look on his face that you get when someone asks you a really stupid question.
The giant looked me over as if he was wondering what was so special about me, and I think he noticed how much dad and I look alike and figured out why. He got an evil glint in his eyes like he was thinking how he could hurt dad by hurting me. While he was distracted Christina ran at him and stabbed him again she quickly moved again to avoid being stabbed herself.
It looked like Nathan was trying to use one of his spells on the giant but the giant said, "Foolish demigod your silly spells won't work on me."
He swung his trident at Nathan who was frozen in surprise at the fact that his spell hadn't worked. I was sure he would be dead; dad was distracted by monsters who were trying to interfere with the fight, I watched in horror as Christina jumped in front of her boyfriend taking the blow that would have killed him.
She let out a shriek of pain the likes of which I hoped I would never hear again. At the sound of her shriek Dad's head whipped around and saw her on the ground blood pouring from a large wound on her chest. Nathan was kneeling at her side crying, his tears falling onto her wound. I wanted to run over to her too but we still have to deal with the giant.
He had an evil grin on his face knowing that he had hurt us. I wanted wipe that happy look from his face, suddenly my sadness turned to rage and I charged at the giant. On my right my Dad did the same. I ran forward and stabbed the giant in the leg, the knee, and the foot, anything I could reach. He would either try and stab me with his trident or try and wrap me up in his net but I would always roll out of the way. I took out my bow again and fired arrow after arrow some he caught but others he didn't.
After I felt like enough had got him I charged at him and using the arrows as steps I climbed up and stabbed him in the chest. Afterward I dropped back to the ground and before he could pull my sword out dad caught him off guard and stabbed him in the stomach. The giant disintegrated into a pile of dirt. Most of the army was now defeated so I ran over to Christina I grabbed her right hand, but it was as cold as ice I knew that there was nothing that we could do. We were too late. When Dad walked over to us I saw his face fall when he saw that she couldn't be saved.
