JUST LETTING YOU KNOW THAT I WON'T BE ON HERE MUCH THE NEXT THREE DAYS, I'm GOING TO SEE SOME OF MY FAVORITE COUNTRY ARTISTS IN CONCERT. THOSE ARTISTS ARE BLAKE SHELTON, THE BAND PERRY, AND KENNY CHESNEY. I'M SO EXCITED! Okay I'll stop yelling you get my point. I might share some pictures from the concerts if you want me to. anyway enjoy the chapter.
Apollo's point of view
I was listening to music when I was summoned to a council meeting. When I got there I could see that Percy looked furious, and he was glaring at my father. Thinking back on our last meeting I had a pretty good guess about why Percy was so angry. Percy may not realize it, but he has more in common with his dad than just appearance and domains. I have seen both of them when they are mad and Percy is nearly as scary as his father when he's mad. As it was It was hard not to flinch from catching the edge of the glare that Percy is giving my father.
My father said "Why did you call this meeting nephew?"
That question only infuriated Percy further. In response he said "You should know the answer to that already, if you don't you are more stupid than I thought." That statement made my father's anger increase. And the master bolt appeared in his hand.
Percy said "Fine try and kill me just like you tried to do to my son. I'll just reform anyway. Regardless I'll tell you that it won't go the way you plan." As if obeying Percy my father threw the master bolt toward Percy. Partway there it froze in the air and then dropped to the floor. The goddesses who would normally be trying to stop an argument like this weren't doing a thing and looked quite angry themselves.
In fact no one was interested in helping my father. The truth is that most of us would have attempted to unseat him years ago except we had all sworn loyalty to him as king of the gods. Pretty much all of us believed that he was no longer a good king, we all had something that we were angry at him for. For instance most of us were angry that he had forced us to cut ourselves off from our children during the second giant war. None of us had agreed with the decision to close Olympus but as king of the gods he had forced us to do it. We all had individual grudges as well, I was angry at him for forcing me to punish my son Halcyon Green, when he had just been trying to help.
Percy said "I warned you uncle that if you dared to try and harm my son you would regret it. Now I'm going to show you that I don't make empty threats." He continued and said "I used to wonder why anyone on the council actually listened to you, but now I know that they were bound by oaths of loyalty. I also had to swear one but since I am god of loyalty I can sever such oaths as easily as I can make them. What do you think would happen if I severed those bonds? Would anyone in this room still support you? Why don't we find out?" A smirk appeared on Percy's face while obvious fear showed on my father's face. he knew full well that we wouldn't protect him, and he was actually afraid of what was going to happen.
My Father managed to say "You swore not to use those powers..."
Percy cut him off saying "I swore not to use them against Olympus I never said a word about not using them against you."
When Percy had mentioned severing the oaths of loyalty that forced us to obey my father many of us had summoned our symbols of power. Hades and Poseidon looked like they had been the first to do so but most of us followed suit. Hestia didn't, since she is never violent, but the rest of us did. Even Dionysus did.
Hera suddenly stood and said "Zeus I have had enough of your foolishness and cheating. As goddess of Marriage I end our marriage. I will no longer be your wife."
Hara's actions were only slightly surprising. We all knew how much it annoyed her when he cheated on her. She used to take her anger out on the mortals who he cheated with, or on the demigod children that were born as a result of his cheating. She has never been overly fond of me or the other gods who were born because of his cheating either.
My father seemed somewhat surprised by Hera's actions, but not completely shocked. After Hera sat back down, our attention returned to Percy and my father.
Percy spoke once again, he said "Zeus You have been so paranoid of someone stealing your throne that you are willing to kill innocents because you fear their power. You have become so obsessed with keeping your throne that you are no longer fit to rule, many would agree with me, they are just too afraid to say it.
I am going to make your worst fear come true you arrogant @#$@%&@." Percy finished his statement by calling my father something in Ancient Greek that I think its best I don't translate. He paused for a moment seemingly concentrating. Then he said "The oaths that forced the council to remain loyal to you are now broken."
As if on cue several of the other Olympians charged my now cowering father. He had been standing through most of Percy's tirade but he had become more fearful as the implications of what Percy said he could do sunk in. just as the other Olympians began to charge him Percy said one last thing before my father was struck with a trident, a sword, a couple of spears, and a couple other weapons.
Percy had said "Just so you know Zeus Tartarus isn't very nice I'm sure you've probably forgotten since it's been a while since you've been down there."
Artemis, Hermes, Aphrodite, Percy, Hera, and I didn't have to do anything, although Artemis did fire a couple of arrows at him. It's not that she didn't care for him, he is our father, somewhere deep down she did care about him, but she truly hated how he treated women, and that's why she fired the arrows.
He didn't last long after the others charged him, and Artemis's arrows hit him. He soon vanished leaving a puddle of ichor on the floor as the only evidence of what had happened. Well that and his now empty throne. Percy waved his hand and the puddle of ichor soon vanished as well.
"I guess we have to choose a new king now." Hermes said.
Most of us nodded agreeing. Even though she was the oldest Hestia didn't want to lead and become a queen of the gods she was content having a seat on the council and tending the hearth. None of the other eldest Olympians wanted the title either, Hades said he was busy enough with his own domain, he didn't want the extra responsibility of being the king of the gods.
Poseidon didn't want it either he was content taking care of his own domain without becoming the king of the gods. Hera and Demeter gave a similar response, I think we only asked Demeter because she is one of the eldest Olympians, I don't think we really wanted a cereal crazed queen. Once all the eldest Olympians refused the position it was down to us. Hermes didn't want it, neither did I. we continued narrowing down our options until Athena stated who she believed would be the best option, and I couldn't agree more.
A/N I know two in one chapter is annoying, but I was just wondering what you thought of the chapter, were you satisfied with what Percy did to Zeus?
