Chapter 26

Percy's point of view

Iris or Fleecy whoever was doing the messages, obliged and an image of Amber in her apartment appeared in the mist. Luke said, "Mom!"

 then Amber noticed the Iris message and said, "Luke, I've missed you." 

He said, "I missed you too Mom." 

I mostly stayed out of the way letting Luke talk to her since I've seen her more recently than he had. I wanted to keep her informed on what's going on, okay maybe that wasn't my only reason for visiting her but that doesn't matter right now.

When Amber asked him how his quest went I knew that Luke was about to find out that I have been visiting Amber because as far as he knew she knew nothing of what had been going on at camp since he got here, unless Chiron or his Satyr Sam had kept her informed. He asked "How do you know about that? Has Chiron talked to you?"

She said, "No your father has been keeping me informed."

 A look of surprise crossed Luke's face and then he looked at me. I figured I might as well reveal myself now since Amber Probably figured it out anyway when Luke looked away from the message. When she saw me she said, "Percy,"

 I smiled at her and said "Amber," I was trying not to reveal the fact that we were basically seeing each other again. But I get the feeling that Luke was suspicious. I know I will have to tell him soon, I'm just not sure how. I mean I can't just say to him "Luke you know how I said I still love your mother, well we are kind of seeing each other again, and I proposed to her." no that's not the way to go about it. Anyway, I'll sort that out later. We talked for a while longer and when we finished the conversation I swiped my hand through the message.

After that I went back to my palace, I decided to see if I could find Annabeth, not because I wanted to see her because I definitely didn't. It was because she had escaped from us once before. I hadn't tried looking for her since twelve years ago and at the time Tartarus must have been shielding her from us. It had annoyed me even more that she had been against us for that many years. But now well I just want to capture her and maybe get some more information about Tartarus's plans.

When I looked at the image on the mirror it showed her and the guy Demetrius who had attacked Luke and his friends when they were on the quest. They were walking through San Francisco. I wondered why they were there, was Tartarus's base mount Orthrys? or Had Tartarus sent them on some sort of mission there? I didn't know.

A meeting was called, and the first thing that was asked was if any of us had gotten any new information on Tartarus's plans I mentioned that I knew where two traitor demigods were and that we might be able to get information out of them. Since that was the only real useful information we had Zeus said to capture them. I had kind of been planning on doing that anyway.

Annabeth's Point of view

Once Demetrius told me that he also wanted to get the Hades out of there we made a plan to escape. I would sneak out using my invisibility cap, yes it works. It had started working again after the giant war and I was shocked that it didn't stop working again after everything I did. Thankfully it works; Demetrius would sneak out as best as he could.

We had decided if anyone stopped us we would claim that we were leaving for a mission, most wouldn't doubt us since we were two of the higher up demigods in Tartarus's forces. So we snuck out of the base which is the titan's palace on mount Orthrys by the way. Tartarus mostly stays in Tartarus; however, I think he is planning on fighting in the final battle.

Anyway, I kept my invisibility cap on until we were a fair distance away from mount Orthrys. I had always kept some mortal money in case we ended up staying in the mortal world for whatever reason so we would be able to buy more food if we have to. However we have a limited supply of nectar and ambrosia so hopefully, we won't run into too many monsters.

Demetrius said, "So now that we're out what's the plan?" 

"Turn ourselves in?" I suggested.

 he said, "Are you crazy they would kill us for betraying them, and I for one am not interested in dying anytime soon."

 I said, "Neither am I but we may be able to avoid that if we give them the information they want."

 "Like what?" He asked.

 I shook my head at his stupidity, he wasn't one of the smartest people in the world but he was a good fighter, I suppose that's why he was allowed to join Tartarus's forces. I answered, "We can give them information about Tartarus's plans, where he intends to attack next and who is working for him." he nodded understanding and said, "Well if it delays my death I'm good with it."

 I nodded in response; it was at that moment when I heard someone coming toward us. I think they were trying to be stealthy but they were failing miserably.
