ENTRY 11

16.03.63.04.23

I woke up before Pandorica. There was the sound of what seemed like airships flying overhead and the sounds of gunfire in the distance. It was still dark. The sun was just starting to create an orange glow on the other side of the mountains. The sounds sounded like they were coming from those mountains. I woke up Pandorica. She also heard the noises all she could say was, "Oh no, not again."

She told me that a few times a year the Humans scrimmage near Zartoon cities, showing what kind of power they have. It was not meant for anyone to get hurt or killed. It was what females call a bravado contest.

As Pandorica had been speaking, all of a sudden, there was a sound that was louder than any we had heard before and the sky lit up as bright as if the sun was at its highest point.

"Oh no," I said. "Not here! They could not be that fucking stupid... not here!" Pandorica looked at me with a look of pure confusion. "Pandorica, one thing I do remember is that sound,' I told her "Oh yes, how I remember that sound, the asses in control on Earth developed a weapon that could kill millions with a single explosion. It started there during a war and it just grew. No one knew how bad it was until a small country tested one on their soil and the country was burned to ashes in less than 30 seconds. A million people died and those who did live were burnt so badly it was hard to tell that they were Humans."

"This was on Yartook," she asked.

"Yes," I said. "When the last war started all of the countries on Yartook had those weapons, and they used them. 90% of the population the planet was killed." Pandorica had not said anything; she just held my hand tightly, and we ran back to the Zartoon city. When we got there, we saw that the walls of the city had been burnt. Even though the sound and light were happening maybe a hundred miles away, the city was still affected. The people of the city were just walking around like zombies. It wasn't because of any radiation or anything like that, it was just pure unexpected shock.

We walked into the Council Chambers and they were empty. The members, from what I heard later on, were taken underground for their safety. Pandorica and I just stood there holding each other. There was nothing else to do so we just sat down and looked at each other, not knowing how much time was passing until the moons rose and Zartoon was having its usual beautiful night. Too bad the night didn't realize the terror that the light of the sun had brought to this planet and her people.
