ENTRY 17

It is now a couple of days since the humans took me and threw me into their jail. Right now I am so hungry, yeah after they set me free, they gave me some food and water, but it wasn't near enough to survive on, and that ran out late yesterday afternoon. Hell, I can't even be sure what the time or date is, as unfortunately they took my watch and never returned it.
Let's see Earth was 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If I remember right the days are just about the same length of time as on earth, so the calendar should pretty much be the same but, how long is their year? I remember, and I do do not know why there was ann article that stated a year on Mars was almost equal to two years on earth. Now, Pandorica has assured me, so many times that this is not Mars, this is Zartoon! Well, whatever the hell it is, I just wish my watch was still on my wrist. I suppose from now on I will just have to stop thinking in Earth time and start adjusting to the fact that the Zartoon and even the Humans do not seem to make a major deal of time.
Anyway, screw all of that. Right now, I have to find some food soon, or I may have to go back to the Humans just to stay alive. Which would not be good, as now I have a mission, as the supposedly Zartoon savior.Maybe I will prove them right, and actually save some lives, maybe not, but I won't know until I get back to the Zartoon city with my mission accomplished.
I resorted to flipping over rocks to try and find some traces of moss. There was some, thank God, so I was able to get some moisture from the roots of the moss.
I have changed my travel times. I walk at night and sleep during the day. It was bitterly cold as I walked, but it was better than roasting under the sun, especially around midday. It wasn't the heat. It was more that I was getting severe sunburns.
When I started out that last night, I saw the edge of a forest on the horizon. I tried to remember where I was. Was there a canal there just beyond my line of sight? It couldn't have been that far away. I walked maybe four hours to get there, but it was just a forest, and it was lush with ferns, trees, and grasses. The air was full of animal noises, and I even saw a couple of monkey-like creatures swinging in the trees. And there thank God was water. Such sweet smelling water I dropped to my knees and drank my fill as soon as I saw it.
I heard voices from the other side of the small lake. I couldn't figure out if they were Human or Zartoon but they were voices, and I knew that I had to be careful until I found out who they were? But right now, all that will wait until tomorrow.
