ENTRY 23

So far I have been able to wander around here as much as I wanted. I saw a few of those spirits floating around, but they just ignored me. This place is a lot bigger than I first thought. There are miles and miles of hallways and innumerable doors. Most of them are locked, and the ones that are unlocked lead to pretty much nothing. They appear to be living quarters, yet other than the people who come in through the front door, I have not seen a living being anywhere. This place keeps getting stranger and stranger!
Finally, I found a door at the far end of one of the hallways. There were two spirits standing on either side of the door and each was holding a sword in front of it. They kind of reminded me of those tombs in France, where the Knights Templar are buried, except the swords I was looking at seemed a lot more menacing and a whole lot more deadly.
Lowering my head, I walked toward the door. When I was about twenty feet away, the guards noticed me and raised their swords. "Stop your approach," they both said at the same time. I slowed down, but I still kept walking. "Stop your approach," they said again. The thing was the tone of their voices never changed. A couple of more steps and they repeated their command, still in the same voice as before. I was about two feet away from them when they moved again, shoving their swords into my abdomen. I bent over in expected pain. Fortunately, there was no pain and no blood. As I raised myself back up, they thrust again and again, still with no results.
"What in the hell," I yelled. I stood there for a minute watching their swords enter and then exit my body. Then I realized "These bastards are also just holograms. They can't hurt me."
Once again, I heard "Stop your approach." Again, I didn't listen and, as I reached for the doorknob, a sudden rush of courage came over me.
"Fuck you both," I said loudly. The doorknob opened easily and, once the door was open, I saw why there were guards protecting the room. It was huge, as big as a football field and as high as a five-story building. Inside was a massive computer. It was bigger than anything I had ever seen or ever even imagined. My thoughts were childish the moment I saw it. I instantly thought how great any game would be if I could play them on this computer. I know it was silly, but hey, I felt relaxed for the first time all day.
It took me a while, but I found the control console. It was covered with several inches of dust. It was obvious no one had been in this room in possibly hundreds of years. It was amazing. That computer must have been running and maintaining itself, for all that time.
I am going to have to take my time figuring this thing out so I cannot write anymore. I will make another entry before the moons set in the morning.
