ENTRY 55

I finally made it back to Tergina. I am bruised and bloodied, but my spirits are still strong, and it was made even stronger when I got to the gates, and I was met by the village's leader.
"You have come to see Gavabu and her child," he asked.
"She is my wife, and the child is my daughter," I replied. I don't know how but I got the courage up to make a demand. "I would like to see them and see them now." My voice was strange, even for me but it got the message through. He escorted me to a room where a young adult was resting on a small but fancy bed.
The woman turned to me, and all she could say was, "Daddy!" Then she got up and ran across the room and into my arms.
"Rhosly," I asked in bewilderment as I took her hand. "Is it you?" She looked at me and smiled and replied that yes, she was my daughter. "What happened to you? I inquired, "when I saw you last you were a child, and so close to death when they took you away from me and brought you and your mother back to Tergina."
"Yes, father when they brought us here as you know we were both very seriously ill and close to death," she said. "So here they gave me some herbs, and then within a few passing moments I was feeling better and up on my feet again." She then explained, that due to her youth, and the rapid growth a Zartoon human child goes through, it increased her metabolism to such a high rate that the herbs were able to work almost immediately.
"What about your mother?" I asked. I didn't want to know... not really, especially if it was bad news, but I had to ask.
"Unfortunately, my mother's metabolism isn't as good as mine," Rhosly cried as a tear started rolling down her cheek. "They gave her the same herbs they gave me, but they just didn't work as they did on me. She is still close to death, they even have priestesses praying over her, burning ancient bundles of secret herbs, and they also sent a messenger to get water from the falls where we were stricken. They have not returned yet."
I couldn't take anymore. Rhosly didn't have any more to tell me, so I found out where Pandorica was, and I rushed over to where they were attending to her. The door was blocked by a guard who had to have been the biggest, ugliest and meanest Zartoon I had ever seen. I politely asked to enter the room. "No one... especially a Human... is allowed in the room until the Princess is ready!" I explained who I was and he still would not allow me to enter. Finally, one of the priestesses walked from the room, and I could see through a crack when she opened the door. I saw Pandorica lying on some bed. It was huge and covered with a deep purple and black comforter. All around her were priestesses wearing black cloaks. They were stroking her face with damp cloths, placing water on her lips and praying at her feet, but from what I could see, my Pandorica was not moving. I could not even see her chest move as she breathed. Still, at least these Zartoon were not giving up. Unfortunately, I was not able to see or hear any more before I was chased away and told that under no uncertain terms were I to go back to that room.
I went back to Rhosly, and we sat and talked, I was trying my best to believe Pandorica would survive, and my dear grown up little Rhosly was trying her best to comfort me. We then went to eat some God-forsaken Zartoon food, and I decided to then head back to the rooms they had provided for us and to try to get some sleep. I needed to think calmly, and clearly, so I could find a way to see my wife and get passed the formidable Zartoon guard at her door.
