Merida swung the doors of Studio A open. Today was the day she was going to have her first rehearsal for her and Hiccup's duet.
She set her dance bag on a bench at the side of the studio and flicked the stereo on. A beautiful piano melody tinkled from it's speakers, flowing through her veins like a drug. It took control of her movement like a puppeteer and before she knew it she was twirling around the studio, letting the music cloud her judgement.
She slowed and faced her back to the doors, catching her breath for a space of 30 seconds before she felt a pair of hands placing a backpack on her back. Her gaze landed on a boy with shaggy brown hair, green eyes and freckles wearing a blue backpack and a soft smile. He nodded his head as a gesture for her to continue.
Merida turned slowly around with her back to Hiccup, his body only a step behind her. Her eyes fixed in front of her as she walked smoothly yet almost robotically forward, Hiccup following close behind.
The two let themselves get lost in the melodies as they danced gracefully in perfect sync as if they'd practised the same dance routine since they'd learnt to walk.
Hiccup outstretched his arms towards Merida as she gracefully twirled to him in a series of pirouettes. She leapt into the air, tripping on her own foot in the process. Her eyes widened as she plummeted to the floor. She squeezed her eyes shut as she waited for the impact; but it never came. Instead she felt a pair of strong hands on her waist.
Her eyes cautiously opened to see Hiccup stood above her breathing heavily, his body hovered over hers, his hands the only thing suspending her from the ground only inches below. She stared in shock into his bright green eyes, losing herself in their everlasting forest. His breath was hot on her cheek.
His eyes locked with hers and before long, the two were leaning closer, closer, closer. Their noses touched and finally Hiccup gained the confidence to make the move and close the gap. Merida melted into the kiss, moving in sync with him just as she did when they danced. They pulled away before they wanted to, pressing their foreheads together, breathing heavily and staring deeply into each other's eyes.
A slow clap sounded from the doors. The pair turned their attention towards the sound, untangling themselves and composing themselves as they stood straight. Miss Hallows made her way slowly to them. "I see we made the right decision in choosing you as the duet pair."
"H-how long we're you in here?" Hiccup stuttered in a flustered manner.
"Long enough," she replied. "You two have the perfect chemistry, I see that now. I'll leave you alone." She smiles knowingly and strides out if the studio.
"What now?" Merida asked with a smile. Hiccup looked into her deep blue eyes and moved closer, pushing a lock of hair from her face.
"This."
A/n I finally thought of an OK idea for this Part 2. Sorry it's much shorter than the other one but I think it wouldn't have worked if it was any longer. I dedicate this chapter to @Neriny (my phone doesn't tag).
Thank you all and hope you enjoyed.
