--Devyn's POV--

After lunch, the boys went back to the hotel to rest while Alaska and I went to Target for some necessities.

Calum had said he'd pick me up at 9 but I insisted on 8. My sister wasn't leaving until after 10 but I didn't want her trapping me at home asking which dress looks better on her.

That's what she had her friends for. I don't have anything against them, I just feels like sometimes she treats them more like her sisters than me.

By the time 8 o'clock rolled around, I'd changed into a floral print dress with black nylons and black Docs, despite Alaska's pleas for me to wear heels.

Alaska was in the shower when I heard a knock at the door. I ran a hand over my straightened hair, smoothed my dress, and took a deep breath before opening the door.

"Hi," Calum said shyly.

"Hey," I said, giving him my best smile.

"Ready to go?" He asked.

"Let me just tell Alaska," I said, rushing over to the bathroom door.

I knocked and Alaska opened the door, stepping out into the living room. My eyes widened and I looked at Calum who was looking around, away from my sister who was only covered by the small towel wrapped around her.

"We're leaving now," I mumbled.

"See ya," she said, walking toward the room.

"Bye, Alaska," Calum said politely.

We decided to walk a few blocks and explore Downtown San Luis Obispo.

"So are you excited to start school?" Calum asked as we walked passed a few boutiques.

"'Excited' and 'school' just don't go together," I laughed.

"True that," he agreed.

"I've never done exceptionally great in school, actually. If my SAT scores hadn't been so good, I probably wouldn't even be coming here," I said honestly.

"I'm sure you'll do fine, especially since you've got your sister here for you," he said encouragingly.

"Yeah, I guess so," I said uneasily.

"You don't like her?" He asked, catching on to my tone.

"I love her, of course," I said defensively. "She can just be a bit of a... good girl."

"Really? I wouldn't have guessed that after last nights events," he said jokingly.

"I know, huh," I laughed. "She's just good at everything and well.. you know."

"No, tell me."

"I just don't like the feeling of being compared to her, I guess," I concluded.

"Oh," was all he said.

"Yeah," I said awkwardly. "Anyway, what do you wanna do?"

"Well, I am a little hungry... but if you're not we don't have to eat."

"You clearly don't know me," I said smiling. "I'm always hungry."

He laughed and we tried to decide where to eat.

We ended up at Woodstock's, a popular pizza place, and it was pretty crowded. This dinner alone with Calum was a dream come true and the pizza was amazing, making the date that much better.

When we finished up and started walking around town again and stopped when we came across a movie theater.

"Is a 'dinner and a movie' date too cliche?" Calum asked timidly.
