--Calum's POV--
I was on edge about how Devyn would act toward me around the others. When we got back to the car, she didn't say anything and she remained silent throughout the car ride, as did I.
"So that was a great hike, huh, Ash?" Alaska awkwardly broke the silence.
"Yeah, those little houses were pretty cool," Ashton agreed.
It got quiet again and I snuck a peek at Devyn who quickly turned away to look out the window.
How could I forget? I wasn't trying to hide anything from her. I really liked her. How had I forgotten to tell her when we were leaving?
I sighed as we parked in front of Alaska's apartment building. We all emerged from the car and went inside to get changed.
"By the way, I don't have my phone," Devyn mumbled.
"You don't need it, you're with us," Alaska shrugged.
"Alright," Alaska continued. "We need to all hurry up and get changed so we can go. Who wants to shower first?"
"Ladies first," Ash giggled.
Alaska rolled her eyes and went into her room to gather her things. While Alaska was in the bathroom, the other boys watched tv and Devyn was in the kitchen, rummaging through the shelves. I sighed again and went to my duffel bag, searching for clean clothes.
As soon as Alaska came out of the bathroom, I rushed inside with my clothes. I needed a shower to calm me down and give me time to figure out how to act like my girlfriend and I weren't in a fight.
I didn't want Devyn to be mad. This was going to ruin our night no matter how hard we tried to put off the problem.
After I finished showering, I opened the door to see Michael and Luke get up and run toward the bathroom. Ashton came from behind them and shoved them playfully, getting to the bathroom first.
"Damn," Michael groaned.
Luke ran a hand through his hair and they both sat back down on the couch.
"What's wrong, Cal?" Luke asked worriedly.
I shrugged. "Nothing I guess."
"You can't fool us, man," Michael shook his head.
"Yeah," Luke agreed. "What happened between you two?"
"I'm not sure yet and I don't wanna talk about anything until I talk to Devyn," I said firmly.
They looked at each other and turned their attention back to the tv. I was usually open about things and didn't mind talking to the boys about anything. This was different though. I didn't want to jinx things between Devyn and I; the future of our brand new relationship was looking pretty uncertain.
Michael and Luke each took a shower and we were all ready to go, Alaska and Devyn were still no where to be seen. Ashton walked over to Alaska's door and knocked lightly three times. There was no reply and a few moments later the door opened.
"Ready!" Alaska grinned.
She sauntered into the living room followed by a sullen looking Devyn.
"Lets go!" Ashton grinned back at her.
Something had changed between the two of them, but my curiosity would have to be put on hold until I could sort out my own problems.
We walked out to our rental car and took the same seats we'd had earlier. Devyn left the seat between us empty again so we both looked out our windows to diffuse the awkwardness.
