--Alaska's POV--

"What the hell are you doing here?" I spat.

My eyes shifted back and forth between Jacob and Carolin, who were standing right next to each other.

"I let him in," Carolin said calmly.

"What?!" My voice cracked.

"It's not like I had a choice," she defended.

I continued to glare at her and when I looked over at Jacob, he looked kind of sad.

"He'd been asking about you. He followed us out of the frat house and told me he wanted to talk to you. He came all the way here, just hear him out," she said and he nodded along.

"C'mon, Al," he said, stepping closer to me.

"No," I shook my head vigorously and put my hands over my ears.

"You're not doing this again," I said firmly. "You always do this and I'm sick of it!"

"Do what?" He asked. "I just wanna talk."

"I think I'm gonna just go chill in the car," his roommate said, leaving the apartment quickly.

Rosie and Heather snuck off into their room yet none of the tension and awkwardness diffused.

"Devyn, go to the room please," I said to her quietly.

She obeyed without a word.

"I'm sorry," Carolin mumbled. "Just talk to him."

With that she left to join Heather and Rosie. Their ears were pressed to the door to eavesdrop, no doubt.

"What do you want?" I snarled.

"Um," he finally looked a little nervous.

"Well?!"

"I just wanted to see you," he whispered.

"I know you saw me. At the Grad. And I'm sure Ashley told you I was at the beach. So I know you saw me there."

"That's not what I meant," he said, a little less nervous now.

"Then?!"

"I want to spend time with you," he said.

"Yeah, okay," I scoffed.

"You don't belie---"

"No! I don't believe you! Why should I?! I'm just a toy to you. I'm so tired of it. You come back to me and give me hope," I was practically screaming now. "And for what?! So you can crush it?! I'm done. Find someone else to hook up with and play your games. I'm done!"

"Oh what? You found a new guy so you think you're too good for me now?" He spoke up.

"No, I--"

"I saw you with those guys, don't lie," he said.

"Oh so that's what this is about?" I said, my confusion slowly dying. "You're just mad because I've moved on and I'm not sitting by the phone waiting for you anymore?"

"Where is your new man now?" He smirked, unfazed by my comment.

"I'm right aren't I? You're afraid I'm not gonna be waiting on you," I went on. "I never said I'd wait forever."

"What? No.. I-- I just," he stammered. "I know you didn't..."

"You have time to go out partying now so why didn't you try things out with us again? If you going out isn't hurting your academics then why didn't we get another chance?"
