Recap:
'Oh, hell no. This ends now.'
I slowly turned around and grabbed my pencil, starting to writte something that was written on the board, feeling all the eyes on me. I felt the guy next to me studying me with interest, while the rest of the class studied me with fearfull eyes.
A lot of them had already seem a display of my violence and I'm sure they did not want to see it again. I grabbed my pencil hard, feeling the wood bend a little under the pressure of my hand. I heard Cole sigh in victory and turn to a frightened Red, who sucked in a breath.
Everything was quiet for a moment, before the Beta's deafening scream sounded through the room, the reason for this being the pencil that was now stabbed in his hand, going right to the table, courtesy of my lovely self.
Not a second later a certain blond had trown me off his Beta and sent me flying to the other end of the room.
'Well, he and Ian must me related.' I said before grabbing Red's hand and running through the door towards the woods.
I heard Cole's angry growl that made her wimper but I just ran faster, right through the main door and into the green sea.
We ran for about 10 minutes until he got to a small glade with a huge tree in the middle, Cole's growls following us to close by. He probably had shifted in anger.
'Shit.' I thought looking around.
We didn't have much choices. If we ran, he would just catch us and even if he was alone, which must likely wasn't true due to the protective attitude the blond had taken over his Beta, I couldn't protect myself and Red, especially since she hadn't shifted yet.
We could climb the tall tree in the middle of the glade but they would find us. I don't have a scent but Red does and they could easily climb the tree.
'God, this seriously can get any wors-'
"April!!" I heard Red shout, sounding like she was in pain.
I looked in her direction and saw her on her knees grabbing her head and screaming in pain, falling to the ground in fetal position, from her mouth leaving ear pircing screams. I ran over to her and cupped her hands, turning her face to me, her eyes closed and her teeth gritted in pain.
Suddenly she opened her eyes, revealing purble iris, glowing purple irises.
'Fuck, she's shifting.' I cursed, hearing another growl from the Beta and another scream from Red.
She looked at me with pleading eyes that made my heart ache- she was terrified. I grabbed her wrists and shook her slightly to get her attention.
"It's okay Red, you're going to be fine, I know it hurts, but it'll be worth it. Remember you're strong. You're my best friend. You can do this." I encouraged her, panic evident in my voice.
Still, as much as I was afraid of getting killed by the Beta, right now I would rather stay here with her and fight him when he arrives than leave her for a minute. I was with my brother when I shifted, I don't know what I would had done if he hadn't been there for me the whole way.
As the growls grew louder and louder, the sickening sound of bones breaking ecoed throught the glade, followed by Red's painful screams. I couldn't do much about her pain so I just placed my hands on her upper arm and back and tried to contain the urge to cringe as I feel her body rearrange itself beneath the palm of my hand.
I was so focused on helping my friend that I didn't even felt the deadly presence behind me until it was to late.
I felt a sting on my neck, followed by a burning pain that soon spread across my hole body.
