"She'll be here Baby" I kiss Bella's forehead. She's been worrying about Preston not showing up for parent-teacher night. She leans her head on my shoulder as we sit in the auditorium, listening to her principle talk about the school and how proud she is to work there.

She lets us go, Bella's tiny hand wrapped tightly around my fingers as we walk through her schools hallway. She has a small pout on her face, and I pick her up, kissing her forehead "It's okay Baby"

"I'm here, I'm here" She rushes in "I'm so sorry, but I'm here" Preston runs in, sighing heavily. Bella's face lights up as she leans over to hug Preston. She kisses her forehead and smiles "Hi Darling"

"Hi" She says. We walk down the hallway, Bella telling us where her class is. I sit her down as we reach the door, and she runs in happily, going to talk to her teacher. I take Preston's hand in mine and kiss her cheek making her smile widely.

We walk into the room, sitting down at one of the tables, Bella running over to us, her teacher following behind her "Hi, I'm Ms. Watson" She smiles.

"Hi, I'm Austin, and this is my girlfriend Preston" I shake her outstretched hand, Preston doing the same after me.

"It's nice to meet you, Bella is such a joy in class. She's talkative at times, but I'm very impressed by how far she is above her grade level" She looks down at Bella who is burying her face into my shoulder.

"I try my best" I chuckle, kissing Bella's cheek. Her teacher excuses herself, other people walking in, and Preston turns to me a teasing smile on her face.

"Girlfriend huh?" She giggles.

"I uh- well-" I stammer and she squeezes my arm gently.

"I don't mind it" She kisses my cheek.

"Oh god" Bella covers her face and I look at her in confusion.

"What?"

"That boy over there" She huffs "He's annoying"

"Is it your boyfriend?" I tease "Do I need to go talk to him?"

"Dad! No" She smacks my arm, and I laugh.

"Do we need to have the boy talk?" I continue to embarrass her.

"I'm not talking to you anymore" She rolls her eyes, walking over and sitting in Preston's lap.

"Well, hello there"

"Dads being mean" She whines, and Preston gasps dramatically.

"How could someone be mean to you?"

"I don't know, ask dad" She rolls her eyes.

"How could you be mean to her?" Preston asks me and I chuckle quietly.

"Because shes smelly" I tease and Bella scoffs.

"I am not"

"Are to"

"Am not"

"Are to"

"Am-"

"Alright, so, I'm Ms. Watson" Bella's teacher cuts off our banter and Bella huff, crossing her arms over her chest. I wrap an arm around Preston's shoulder as Ms. Watson drags on.

"You wanna come to mine after this?" I ask, but she frowns.

"I can't, I'm not even supposed to be here. My dad has me at the office but I left while he was in a meeting"

"It's 8 o'clock"

"He wants me there until midnight" She huffs "Maybe after?"

"Okay" I nod.

"Why does he have you in the office?"

"He's retiring soon" She sighs "I have to take over soon"

"Is it easy?"

"A lot of work" She shrugs "He's showing me the ropes and I can barely keep up"

"You'll get the hang of it" I encourage, kissing her cheek.

Once we're finally let out, I walk Preston to her car, Bella attached to her hip "I'll see you later?" I ask as she puts Bella down, leaning against her car. Bella walks beside me, wrapping her arms around my leg.

"Yeah, I'll text you when I'm leaving the office" She nods.

"Okay" I nod.

"Okay" She copies me and I chuckle "I'll see you later Cutie" She kneels down to Bella's level, opening her arms.

"Bye" Bella mumbles, hugging her. Preston kisses her cheek and stands back up kissing mine and smiling brightly.

"I'll see you later" She gets into her car. I wave and pick up Bella walking her back to my car, kissing her cheek.

"I love you, Princess" I tell her but she just looks away "Are you still mad at me?" I ask, but she continues to ignore me "I'm sorry, you're not smelly" I nudge my nose along her cheek "You smell very very nice" I stop in front of my car "Bella" I drawl out in a whine "You're making daddy sad" I pout, fake crying.

"I'm sorry" She huffs "You're such a baby"

"Can I have a kiss?" I pout and she rolls her eyes giving me a kiss "Alright, now get into the car" I sit her down, unlocking the car. I shut the door after she climbs in, getting into the front seat and turning the car on "All buckled in?" I ask and she nods. I put on my seatbelt and drive home, waiting for Bella to get out before walking up to the front door.

She runs in when I unlock the front door "Hey! Brush your teeth and get ready for bed" I yell after her, hearing her whine as she stomps into the bathroom. I chuckle and walk into my room, plugging in my phone, and walking to the bathroom, knocking on the door.

Bella opens in, toothbrush in her mouth and I laugh, grabbing my toothbrush. I brush my teeth with her, and rinse it off when I'm done, Bella running to her room to get changed. She calls for me to tuck her in when I'm done, and I smile, walking into her room. She lays down in bed and I pull the covers over her, tucking in the blanket under her legs "Tucking you in like a pretty little mermaid" I coo, and she giggles.

"Goodnight Princess, I love you" I kiss her nose and she wraps her arms around my neck.

"I love you Daddy" She yawns, letting me go. I walk out of her room, shutting the door behind me, and walking to my room, laying awake for a text from Preston, telling me she's on her way.
