Ch. 25

 Kacey's POV

I sat on the toilet seat lid, tears streaming down my face. My worst nightmare became a reality.

Justin and Shelby are together now.

The thought of seeing them together, happy as ever, just makes me sick. They're not supposed to be together!

I gathered some tissues in my hand and wiped my eyes. I didn't want Adam to know, I still had a little thing left for Justin. I got up, sniffling. "I just need to forget about it. I'm not gonna let it bother me."

I opened the door, no one was in the bedroom. "I wonder where Adam went." I closed the bathroom door behind me and went out to the living room. No one there, too.

I walked around the room, until I felt someone's arms wrap around my waist. I slightly screamed, but then I turned around and it was just Adam.

"Sorry if I scared you." He kissed my cheek. "No, it's fine." I said, smiling at him. "By the way, did you wanna go to the beach?"

"I'd love to. It's cool how it's just right there." I pointed at the window, showcasing a beautiful oceanfront. "Cool. I'll be right back." I watched as he went back into the bedroom.

I put the beach towel down on the sand, then sat down. "Do you wanna go in the water?" Adam asked.

"Eh, you go on ahead. I'm not much a of water person." I bit my bottom lip. " He just shrugged, and went to the ocean.

While I was on my iPhone checking messages, I heard someone laughing. I looked to the left, and in the distance..

Shelby and Justin.

"Just don't look at them." I moved my head back down and looked at my phone, until I heard someone calling me.

"Oh, hi Kacey! I didn't think you'd be here." I looked up and saw Shelby standing there, right in front of me. "You look pretty upset. About what, Justin leaving you for me? Huh?"

I didn't answer. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's what you're upset about. Just think about it, Justin and I getting married, and you wishing you were me." then, she sashayed away.

I swear, that girl gets on my last nerves. I may be a feeling a little jealous, but I don't wanna show it in front of Adam. 

A while after Shelby had left, he came back over to me, and sat down. "How was the water?" I asked him.

"It was okay. Too much seaweed, though." He said. I just laughed at his comment, then I looked back down at my phone.

I decided to go on Instagram, just to see if I missed any new posts. Apparently, I shouldn't have gotten on in the first place. I noticed Justin posted a picture - with Shelby.

@justintimberlake: i feel so lucky to be with the love of my life, love you baby :)

I locked my phone's screen and put it down. Did he seriously call her the love of his life? That's it, I really need him back.
