Kacey's POV
- Wednesday, 1:39 pm -
Instead of being inside all day, I just decided to go out and just, look at stuff. While I was sitting at the kitchen counter, I decided to text Justin. What are you doing?
Nothing. Just recording another song.. about you.
Aw, you're so sweet. C:
I know, baby. C;
Oh my god. He called me baby for the first time.
Yeah. Um, what do you want for dinner?
I'll make something.
Like what?
Something. You'll see what it is.
Okay then..
I've gotta go, sorry baby. I'll text you later, plus I have a surprise when you get home.
- 7 pm -
"Hey baby, ready for your surprise?" Justin asked, then kissed me."Yeah, I'd love to see it." I replied. I watched as he pulled out a paper folded in half, and passed it to me.
"What is this? Your song that you wrote?" I asked.
"Just open it."
"Okay, okay," I opened it and saw it was a promotion. I looked at the name and saw it said The New York Times.
I read the letter attached to it:
Dear Kacey Jennings,
Congratulations on your promotion! From all of us here we know that you will make a big difference working for one of the country's most read newspaper.
- Position: Assistant Editor
"Oh my god.." I mouthed.
"Happy?" Justin asked, grinning.
"I'm beyond happy! Thank you so much!" I ran over and hugged him tightly.
"You're quite welcome. I knew that would make you happy." I put my arms around his neck and kisses him deeply, then broke away and ran to my room to call Ashlynn.
I walked into my room and grabbed my phone, then quickly dialed Ashlynn's number.
"Yes, Kacey?" She said.
"Guess what?"
"What? You had a baby?"
"No, but one day that'll happen. I got a job at The New York Times!"
"Shit." I heard her mumble. "Good luck with that." Then she hung up on me.
