Annabeth stared out of the window into the gloomy sky about. She hated the rain. It brought back to many bad memories. Slowly, she sat up onto the bed leaving the warmth and safety it provided. All her siblings slept around her in the cabin and she crawled out of her bunk, careful to not make a sound. Pulling on a jumper and some trainers, Annabeth opened the door and went to the beach. The waves were as grey as her eyes as they angrily crashed on the sand. They weren't supposed to get any bad weather at Camp but the occasional rain didn't hurt anyone. Unless you were a child of Apollo. They hated the rain more than Annabeth did. She sat down on the sand, worrying about things Annabeth considered stupid and a waste of time. Like the fact that one day everyone was going to die and how everything that scientists knew could be a lie. Stupid stuff like that. She sighed and looked up to the sky. The stars were losing their brightness as the sun rose, making the horizon a warm and welcoming orange. As she doodled in the sand, Annabeth froze. Someone was coming. Judging by the sound of the footsteps it was Percy. "Seaweed Brain?"
"Hey Wisegirl."
"Why are you out here?" She turned to look at him. Surprisingly, he was looking at the ground and blushing. Could boys even do that? Thinking about it, it wasn't the first time she'd seen Percy do that. Over the past year or so she'd notice him staring at her and then looking away the next second bright red when she saw. "I came to ask you something."
"Ask away Barnacle Brain?"
"Will you...." He stopped.
"Will I what?" Annabeth was surprised at how soft her voice was.
"Umm....Will you meet me at the armoury later, I need to tell you something?"
"Sure thing. What time?"
"Before the campfire."

Hours had passed and Annabeth wandered over the the armoury, cowering in her jumper. She shivered as the cold droplets ran down her face and neck. "Goddamit Percy you better have a good reason for this, we were making battle strategies."
As Annabeth entered the workshops she relaxed into the heat.
"Hey Wise Girl."
"Hi." Annabeth turned to look at Percy and grabbed his outstretched hand. For some strange reason butterflies erupted in her stomach. "I thought you wanted to talk to me." Annabeth stared at Percy accusingly but didn't let go of his hand. "We're going to the forest."
"Okay."
"Are you okay with that?"
"I trust you."
That was more than enough for a bright blush to spread across his face.
They walked into the woods in silence, enjoying each others company. The neared a clearing and Percy coughed.
"Annabeth, I need to tell you something."
"Percy what is it? This isn't like you. "
"I know. But the prophecy is going to come true soon and I have this feeling that I'm going to die and I'm so sorry but I can feel it. I'm as sure as the fact that you are breathing right now. And before it does happen and I did I need to tell you how I feel or I'll hate myself forever. I'm sorry I was such a coward all these years."
"Percy, you aren't going to die."
"You can't be sure of that."
"Percy, I promise. And you have nothing to be sorry for. In all the years j have known you I have never thought of you as a coward. Ever."
"Wise Girl. It's a gut feeling, and I'm not asking for sympathy but I can feel the end. "
"Percy-"
"So. Hello Annabeth Chase, it was an honour to be your best friend. I love you so much, more than you could ever know and I will cherish every moment we spent together forever."
Tears were streaming down his face as he hugged Annabeth. She rested her head on his chest, feeling his constant heartbeat through his shirt. She pulled away and wiped his tears with her thumb. "Do you ever shut up?"
"Wha-?"
"Seaweed Brain be quiet and let me kiss you, you big dummy."
He flashed her a grin and Annabeth felt butterflies in her stomach all over again. She wrapped her arms around his neck and their faces crept closer. Finally they closed the gap and Annabeth felt like she had died and gone to Elysium.
"Promise you won't die on me Seaweed Brain."
"I swear on the Styx."

Hope you like it peeps! I'll update soon don't worry!
