Could 'Nat' not leave me alone?! I was attempting to get to know my own family. I could really do without this right now, hadn't I been through enough? Hadn't I changed enough?
A wave of hunger fell upon me and I knew I had to brave the restaurant. I walked out and sat back down at the table. The waiter delivered our food in two trips and we began to eat.
After our meal we returned home. It was around 8pm so I went up to my room and got into bed. I was exhausted. Despite that fact, I spent an hour scrolling through my feed. Examining old photos I'd decided to keep on my social media.
I used to be confident and outgoing, now I was vulnerable and anxious.
I used to be mean and thoughtless, now I was desperate to turn my reputation around.
People were intimidated by me, avoided me and some people wanted revenge on me (such as 'Nat'). I've realized that I can keep my friends, they don't care, they're supportive (most of them anyway). So why was I upset?
Oh yeah, there's someone stalking/black mailing me, my boyfriend cheated on me and I have amnesia. Oops I forgot...
I went downstairs and asked the family if I could ask them some questions, just so I could relate to who I was. They all nodded. We all sat down, dotted around the lounge.
"So what do you want to ask?" Mother enquired.
I could tell the subject was sensitive, but I needed to know, so I asked the question as casually as I could; "where is our dad?"A silence drifted through the room. A respectful, saddened silence.
"Your accident, the car accident." Joe began, "it wasn't you driving."
"Your dad had offered to drive you to your singing competition, you were extremely talented and had an audition somewhere." Mother contributed.
"A car swerved into the other side of the road. Uncontrollably, it smashed into dad's car." Adria continued, "you were both rushed to hospital."
"Dad was paralyzed and probably would've had to of had some of his limbs amputated. He was in constant agony." Joe looked toward the floor sadly, "he told us the story, how excited you were and how it all turned, how you screamed and how the sound of metal crunching filled his ears."
I winced as mother carried on explaining, "his condition worsened and they discovered a bleed in his brain."
Adria began to cry. "It was the worst moment of my life, when the doctors ran out and pronounced our father as deceased."
