Amnesia

Chapter Nineteen - 'you've made the biggest mistake of your life'

I shuffled a little in my chair. I'd been a nervous wreck since last night and had struggled to sleep. After pumping tons of caffeine into my system I couldn't sit still. "Chill." Charlotte said, attempting to keep me still by holding onto my shoulders.

A text came through on my phone and I jumped. "Woah." Hannah smiled whilst taking a seat, "what's up with you?"

Hannah.

I'd never texted her back that night and not told her to go away. Besides, Nat was going to humiliate me anyway. They were going to emerge from the crowds, stand on that stage, confess all my secrets and destroy me.

"I'm fine." I mumbled, removing my phone from my pocket.

'Are you sure you want me to do this?
You could prevent this,
All you have to do is tell Hannah she can't hang out with you.               
It's as simple as that.

What made this situation different to before was that I texted back.

'I'd like to see your preview
If you could just get on with it
Go you there you coward
Vienna'

And all of a sudden the tables turned. I wasn't afraid and wasn't obeying Nat. So all of a sudden they lost their power.

That's the exact moment that I decided to make a big mistake. A massive mistake.

I got up and climbed onto our table. Once standing everyone fell silent, their gazed upon me.

"Someone in this room has been blackmailing me." I announced. "Through letters and texts, they have threatened to release a secret about me, one that I don't know due to my amnesia. If there even is one, I don't know. They have attempted to destroy my friendship between my friend Hannah, telling me to stop hanging out with her because 'she's a loose cannon'. They said if I didn't stop being friends with her they'd tell everyone my secret today. Well 'Nat' this ends now!"

My phone buzzed. I felt a lump in my throat and anxiety swept over me like a wave.
