I wasn't in a state because I can't even remember the man. Venting my frustration I punched my pillow. I felt disrespectful to my father. He had died and all could care to do was morph my pillow into a punching bag. Guilt fell upon me. It wasn't my fault I couldn't remember him, luckily he lived on in hospital for a couple of days so our family knew how it had happened. I certainly couldn't have told them. I turned over and stared into the depths that were my ceiling.
Which was then rudely disrupted by a crash.
Freaking out, I thought a robber had intruded. I jumped up in panic and fracked outside into the corridor. I peered down the banister, darkness, mom must be in bed.
Walking around, I heard a quitter version of the crash again.
I traced the sound to Adria's room. Rapidly I knocked on the door. "Adria are you okay?" I shout as if she was dying inside.
She opens the door a crack, so I can only just make out her eye. "Vienna, it's 10pm." She grunts in a terribly fake, tired voice.
"What is going on?" I narrow my eyes and turn to evil sibling mode, "I'll tell mom..."
"Fine!" She swatted at me with her hand whilst opening the door.
Her window was wide open, a chill drafted into the bedroom. Slowly, I pondered over to the window and poked my head out and looked around. I locked my vision to where the sound was coming from, I looked down so I could see the floor. A boy stood there alarmingly as if he had been caught doing something. "That's my boyfriend, Jordan." Adria sighed.
I turned around and gave her a suspicious look. Adria face palmed, "it's nothing like that! I love you and all that, but I'm trying to let him in..." She trailed off.
"So that's why it sounded as if someone was breaking in." I concluded my thoughts out loud. "Gonna let down your hair and let him climb up it rapunzul?" I smirked. "Moms in bed, let him use the back door."
I could tell Adria wanted me to leave her in peace. So I walked over to the window before leaving and shouted: "bye Jordan!"
