Chapter 7
"Jai please tell me!" She begs.
"Close your eyes." I say.
"but-" She starts.
"Just close them and put your hand over you eyes." I say.
"Oh so you don't trust me now." She says.
"I never said that." I say in 'duh' tone.
"What ever." She says and obeys what I say. We keep walking and I get to the park.
"Okay. Open your eyes." I say, she takes her hand away from eyes and is amazed by the amazing picnic my family set up, for her to meet more of them and they are already there waiting for us.
"Wow Jai... Shes beautiful." Oliver, my cousin says standing up and walking to us.
"Yeah.." I say embarrassed about how he is always says everything he thinks, it's so annoying.
"Oliver, I guess. Jai has told me a lot about you." She says extending her hand to shake his hand but he grabs her hand and hugs her.
"Oliver." I say.
"It's great to meet my new cousin." He says. What?!
"Oliver, don't do this again." I beg.
"What?" Celia is obviously confused. I look at her, then she realises what he had meant, reading my mind.
"Oh no!" She says.
"I am not your cousin... in anyway." She says.
"Yeah. She's not." I say.
"BUT I AM!" Kelly comes running over. Oh god.
"Celia this is Kelly my... other cousin." I say looking for the right words.
"Oh. Hello." She says and Kelly shakes her hand.
"Yes I am Jai's other cousin. Then Kelly grasps my wrist and pulls me to where she can talk to me without anyone hearing.
"She is beautiful. definitely a keeper." She says.
"Okay, I have to go now." I say. I walk over and talk to Celia and introduce her to more of my family.
"This is more of a celebration of me getting past bootcamp. But I say it's for you because I want you to meet my family." I say as we sit in front of a tree and eat cake. I finish and crumble the napkin up.
"Yeah I know." She says.
"How?" I whisper.
"Your cousin Oliver." She says louder than me and I sigh.
"Don't you like him?" she ask with a worried look on her face.
"No it's not that. He tells the truth when the epilepsy starts to get worse. I am worried about the guy." I say, playing with the little piece of napkin.
"It's okay. He will be fine." She says and hugs me.
"He is my favourite cousin and he could die any second." I say.
"I knew someone that had epilepsy... well my mum did, he didn't die. But lived a happy life with a beautiful wife and children. The epilepsy faded away and never came back." She says.
"When did it go away?" I ask.
"About two years ago when he was twenty seven." She says and my eyes light up.
"Oliver is 27 in two weeks. Do you think it will go away when the other guys EP did?" I say.
"Yeah maybe."
