You know how I said I would probably never finish this book?.... yeah I lied....

Chapter 31

"What relation do you have to her?" He asks.

"She's my girlfriend. Has something happened to her?" I ask.

"She was in a car accident..." The man says and I lower my head, not wanting to think what has happened. She couldn't of died. The tears threatened in my eyes. But they didn't fall. I didn't want to seem weak.

"She didn't die. But she is in hospital and the doctor has put her in an induced coma." He says. Despite the fact that my girlfriend was in hospital in a coma, I'm glad she isn't dead. I wouldn't survive if she was... gone.

"You may go to the hospital and see her now. Just be careful." He says.

Careful? What does he think we will have a car crash from grief or something?

The police leave after having a quite word to my mother without me and we head to the hospital. I hadn't spoken since we found out. Only over thought. I really dreaded this day. I really didn't want this day to ever happen. A tear finally rolls down my cheek, not being able to hold it back longer.

We get to the hospital and walk to the front desk. I was so deep in thought I couldn't hear anything. I thought about how she might not wake up. But if she did.... I would be there. Mum started to walk away so I followed her. We walked into room B12 and there she was. Motionless. She was still beautiful. Even though she had bruises on her arms and a couple of cuts on her face.

"Go sit down. I'll be back in five." My mother says and hugs me before walking away, leaving me with Celia. As she leaves a nurse walks in and starts checking things on the machines keeping her alive. Celia. She was so motionless and peaceful. I felt a sudden urge of sadness rush through me.

"You can talk to her. She can hear you. She just can't reply." She says with a sympathetic fake smile. When she left I took hold of Celia's hand. She was cold.

"Celia. I'm sorry. Things weren't meant to happen this way." I whisper.

"Please don't-" I start to say. But my mother walks back in and I just stare at her. Tears threatening to fall from my eyes.

"Are you finished?" My mother asks.

"She's got no one though. I don't want to leave." I say and I look back down to Celia as I hear footsteps approach me and a hand rubbing my back. I look up and of course I knew it was my mother.

"I'm sorry. I don't want to take you away from her. But we need to go. Jai..." She starts and I look up at her.

"She won't be alone. Her brother is coming." She says. Of course her father couldn't be bothered.

"Let's go." she says and I let go of Celia's hand as we walk away. I didn't want to walk away.

"When will he be here?" I ask her.

"Tonight sometime. He'll call us when he gets here. I promised to pick him up from the airport and take him to the hospital and I am bringing his stuff back here because he is staying until Celia wakes up. Even though he'll be at the hospital 24/7 he needs somewhere." She says and we walk out into the cold air. My mum pulls me in close to her and I walk next to her with her arm around me.

"I'm sorry this has happened." She says.

"It's not your fault." I say and walk faster in front of her. It was freezing, I wanted to go home. But Celia with me.
