Preparing for the Yule Ball

Lily's P.O.V

It's been a few days after the first task, and I'm kinda scarred. I've been trying to figure out the clue to the next task. I've been going to the Black Lake more often because that's my thinking place. One day, I dropped my egg in the water because the scream scared me. It glowed gold and I heard music. I looked around, and then dipped my head in. I heard an angelic voice singing:

Come seek us where our voices sound
We cannot sing above the ground
An hour long you'll have to look
To recover what we took

I immediately pulled my head out of the water, speechless. I have to tell Harry. I picked the egg out of the water and ran back inside. I sped walk to the common room, and I found Harry as I passed by. "Lily," said Harry. He ran and hugged me. Even though we're not in the middle of a task, I feel happy to see Harry alive. He asked "what's wrong?" I had a face of worry and anxiety. I took a deep breath and said "I'll tell you in the common room." As we began walking, I told him how happy I was that he was still alive. He agreed, and then he pulled me into a empty classroom. A tear was threatening to fall, and Harry began to comfort me. He hugged me and whispered "it's ok. Sshhhh, you're fine. I'm ok." I wiped my tear, and he asked "now what happened?" I took a deep breath and answered "I found out what the clue is." Harry looked at me in amazement. "Really?" I nodded. "I dropped my egg in the Black Lake while I tried to figure it out, and I heard singing. Harry asked "what did it say?" I took a deep breath, and since I could to sing, I began to sing:

Come seek us where our voices sound
We cannot sing above the ground
An hour long you'll have to look
To recover what we took

Harry looked worried. "I wonder what it means," said Harry. "Well," I began slowly, "The first two lines could refer to the Black Lake. And then the third line is obvious, and so is the last line." Then Harry answered "so you think we'll have to go in the Black Lake and recover something?" I nodded. He kissed me, and then I asked "how are we gonna breathe under water for an hour?" He answered "don't worry, we'll figure it out." We left the classroom, and walked back to the common room. We found only Ron and Hermione in the common room. "Where've you too been," asked Hermione with a smile. "I figured out the clue," I answered. Hermione's smile changed to surprise. "Really?" I nodded. She saw I was worried, so she came up and hugged me. My eyes began to water. Then Harry joined and hugged me too. Ron came too. I was so worried that I wouldn't see Harry anymore. When Hermione and Ron separated, I clung onto Harry, and he comforted me again. "I don't wanna lose you," I said in a shaky voice. "You won't," whispered Harry. After a few minutes of talking while I still clung onto Harry, we went to bed. Hopefully tomorrow I'll still see Harry.

Harry's P.O.V

It's the next day, and as soon as I went down the stairs, I was attacked in a hug. I hugged back and realized it was Lily. She pulled away, then kissed me, and said "good morning Harry." "Good morning Lily," I answered. She looked at me with a hint of fear in her eyes, so I gave her another hug. She let everything out. She started to cry kinda hard. I just hugged her tighter and comforted her. After a few minutes, she stopped slowly, and we pulled away. "Don't worry. I won't let anything happen to you," I told her. She nodded, and we walked with Ron and Hermione to class. Lily was holding my hand tightly, and she looked terrified. I stopped walking, and so did she. Hermione looked back at us, and kept walking with Ron. I looked back at Lily, and said "are you ok? What's wrong?" She told me she was still worried about losing me, and never being able to see me again. I told her everything would be ok, and she relaxed. We got to class on time and sat down. We found out that later in the afternoon we had to go to the Great Hall.
