The Beginning of the War

Lily's P.O.V

Harry told me that Dumbledore is dead, and I began to cry. He was the one that kept us all safe, and now we were in danger. Harry hugged me tightly and soothingly said "don't worry, I'll protect you. I won't let anything happen to you, no matter what." I let loose and cried into Harry's shoulder. He kissed my cheek, and then said "I'm going to go to bed." I nodded, and as he walked away, I felt unsafe. I called his name, and he turned around. I asked "can you stay with me?" He smiled and walked back to me. He laid down on the couch, and I laid down too. He wrapped his arms around me, and I felt safe in his arms. I fell asleep in minutes, and then woke up to Harry playing with my hair. He said "good morning, sweetheart." I smiled and answered "good morning, Harry." Ron and Hermione came down and saw us. Hermione began with her obsession over us, but then asked me if I heard about Dumbledore. I sighed and nodded. Ron asked "do you want to stay for the funeral?" I couldn't speak, so I just nodded my head, and Harry held my hand as we sat up. We walked down together to have breakfast, and then headed to Dumbledore's funeral. As the funeral progressed, my tears starts falling, and I laid my head on Harry's shoulder. He laid his head on mine as he held my hand. One of my tears fell on Harry's hand, and he stroked the back of my hand with his thumb. When it was over, we got up and went to pack. This time, I was actually afraid for what would happen. I packed all my stuff and then brought it downstairs.

Harry's P.O.V

Lily seems really worried now that Dumbledore's gone, and I'm trying to comfort her and let her know I'll take care of her. After I packed everything, I brought my stuff down, and then helped Lily carry her things. We got on the train and then got a private compartment for Hermione, Ron, Lily, and me. Lily was looking out the window without speaking, and I held her hand. She looked down at our hands, and I kissed her head. I whispered "you ok?" She nodded, and then she laid her head on my shoulder. I wrapped my arm around her, and she fell asleep. Ron and Hermione quietly teased me, and then I answered "she's really worried." They nodded and we quietly talked about all the crazy encounters we had. I told them the horcrux Dumbledore and I found was fake, and then Lily woke up. She looked up and asked "what did I miss?" We laughed. I told them that Dumbledore left me the job to find the other horcruxes, and I told Lily that I didn't want her to come so she wouldn't be in danger.

Lily's P.O.V

Harry told me that he didn't want me to go with them, because he doesn't want me to be in danger. I said "please, Harry. I'll be so lonely, I won't know what to do." Harry insisted, "Lily, love, please. I need you to stay, I don't want you getting hurt." Ron and Hermione slipped out so we could settle this. Harry said "look, it shouldn't take long. I promise to come back as soon as possible." I started crying. I continued, saying "I was lonely without you, I don't want to be lonely again." Harry sighed and said "if you go, you have to promise me that you'll never leave my side, you promise?" I answered "I promise." Harry hugged me and said "I love you." I said "I love you too." Ron and Hermione came back, and Hermione asked "so is she coming?" I nodded, and Hermione smiled. We settled on what we were going to pack, and we agreed to go home to each of our houses, and later meet at Harry's house. When the train stopped, we got off with all of our stuff, and then said goodbye, for now. When Hermione and Ron said goodbye to Harry, I went up to Harry and hugged him really tight. He hugged me back, and whispered "we'll meet soon, ok?" I nodded, and then said "can I give you something for now?" Harry smiled and nodded. I gave him a very passionate kiss. He kissed me back with the same passion, and then we pulled away. I walked to catch up with Ron, and Harry waved goodbye. I waved back and then turned around. This was going to be hard at the beginning, but I know I'll be reunited with Harry soon.
