The Second Task

Lily's P.O.V

It's been about a week and a half since the Yule Ball, and Harry, Hermione, Ron, and I have been going to the library to find out how Harry and I could breathe under water..... Well, just for Harry because I also learned that my powers allow me to survive dangerous things from my powers like for example: my water power allows me to breathe under water, my fire power allows me to be on fire without pain, my wind power allows me to survive very windy conditions like a tornado, and my earth power allows me to survive avalanches. Anyway, I've been working so hard to make sure Harry won't get hurt, but I haven't found anything. I sometimes get so mad that I can't find it and I stress myself out. The day before the second task, we all kept looking. Moody then appeared and told us we had to go. He also said he needed to see just Ron and Hermione. After Harry and I walked back to the common room, we stayed up and waited for Ron and Hermione. After about 1 hour, they hadn't come back, so Harry and I decided to go to bed. Before Harry started going up the stairs to his dormitory, I said "wait." He turned around, and came back down to where I was. I sighed and said "goodnight, Harry." Harry answered "goodnight my love. Oh, and Neville told me about something I could use for tomorrow. He's gonna give it to me before the task." I allowed a small smile to appear on my face. I then felt tears coming, and Harry noticed, because he gave me a hug, and comforted me, saying "ssshhhh. It's gonna be ok. I'll see you tomorrow, ok?" He pulled away, and I answered "ok." I then gave him a kiss. Then we went to bed. I hope I see Harry tomorrow.

Harry's P.O.V

It's the day of the second task, and I looked through all my clothes to find something I could wear for today. I finally found something, and I got dressed. I went down the stairs and waited for Lily to come down. After 15 minutes, Lily walked down in her bathing suit. She had her hair in her favorite hairstyle, and I asked her "isn't your hair gonna get wet?" She answered "no, another thing about my powers is that my appearance won't change after I do something of that power." I nodded and we walked down for breakfast. We had a 30 minute breakfast, and then we walked out to the task. On our way, Neville have me what I needed-gillyweed. I kept it in my hand, and before we got to the platform, Lily said worriedly "where's Ginny?" I looked around and didn't see her either. "I don't know," I answered. Lily then pulled me back and gave me a tight hug. I hugged her tightly back, and she said "be careful today." I looked in her eyes and said "you too. And don't worry, we'll see each other after this task." I have her one last quick kiss, and then we walked on the platform. It turns out that Lily was right about the second task. I wonder how Lily feels right now.

Lily's P.O.V

I. Am. Totally. Freaking. Out. I don't know how my powers work exactly in this situation. I didn't see Ginny at all, and I'm worried. I looked over at Harry, and he was eating the gillyweed. When he swallowed it, he looked like he was gonna throw up. I got worried, but then they called for us to start, so I jumped in. My hair floated magically. I swam down further, and I realized I could also swim really fast with my powers. I swam as fast as my powers would take me, an I heard singing. I went in the direction of the singing, and found 5 people floating with a rope tied to their feet. I saw Cho, Hermione, Ron, a blond little girl, and..... Ginny. I swam to Ginny, and untied her rope. She floated upwards, and I took her hand. I swam as fast as my powers could take me once again, and got to the surface. Ginny took a big breath, and she looked at me. "Come on, Ginny," I said, and I took her to the platform. She dried off since I was already dry, and we waited for everyone else. Fleur was out because she couldn't get to the bottom and she got attacked. Then Cedric came up, and then Victor did. We were all waiting on Harry. I was getting worried because there were 10 minutes left of our hour for this challenge. Then there were 5 seconds, 4...3....2.....1.... And just when the clock ended our hour, Harry came out of the surface. My face lit up with happiness. Harry got on the platform, and I said "you did it!" I hugged him tightly, and he hugged me back. I grabbed a towel and started drying him off. He flinched a few times, and I apologized. When I dried him off, I gave him a kiss, and Hermione came over. She hugged him too, and then I told Harry "you had me worried sick!" I have him another kiss, and Harry then put his arm around me. Dumbledore then began announcing. "Alright," he began, "we have decided to award Lily Weasley 1st place for coming up first, and going in with nothing for underwater breath." Harry looked at me and smiled. "I knew you could do it," he said. He then gave me a kiss, and Dumbledore continued. "Now, Harry Potter did come up last, but not only did he rescue his hostage, he rescued the others as well. Because of that, we have decided to award him second place." I saw Harry's mouth drop, and I smiled. "I'm so proud of you," I said as I kissed him. The rest of the champions ended this way: 3rd Cedric, 4th Victor, and 5th Fleur. We all five (Ginny came with us) walked back to the castle. Harry was completely dry now. He looked back to see if anyone else was coming, and then told the rest "we'll be there in a few minutes. You guys start going back." Hermione smiled, and then they kept walking. I didn't know what he was doing. Harry grabbed my hand and pulled a bit off to the side. He then looked at me with a smile, and said "you did it!" He picked me up and spun me around. I laughed and so did he. After three spins, he put me down and kissed me. We then held hands and walked back to Hogwarts. When we got to the common room, I must have had rosy cheeks because Hermione said "what have our favorite lovebirds done now?" Harry then said "just celebrating our victory." Hermione smiled. We both sat down on a couch but then decided to go change. We both got into some comfortable clothes and then the 5 of us just sat around and talked. It then got dark out and we all went to bed. I kissed Harry before I went up, and then when I pulled away and walked a few steps, he grabbed my hand. He pulled me back and then kissed me again. "I love you Lily." I answered "I love you too," while giggling. We then went to bed in our separate dormitories. I wonder what will happen before the third task.
