MACKENZIE

I woke up to the sound of some one screaming. I suddenly sat straight up, and so did Shane. We turned to each other alarm on both of our faces. I heard crashing around, angry voices and a female screaming.

"Who else lives with you?" I asked. He thought for a moment. "My little sister." I saw fear, and pure rage cross his face.He jumped up, and I followed. We walked silently down the hall and peered around the corner. We saw two guys that looked like they were twenty. They were pushing a smaller girl that looked fifteen.

"Mira." Shane hissed. I raised an eyebrow anger entering my system. I've never liked bullies. They piss me off. I put a hand on Shane's arm and he twitched. I pulled up the boxers so they were on my upper stomach, and the shirt covered them making it look like I had no pants on.

"Come out at my signal, Kay?" I said. He nodded, not happy though, then he looked at me and his jaw dropped. He blushed and I smirked.

"Down boy." I said. He closed his mouth and he turned redder.

I took a deep breath then giggled loudly and stumbled out. I faked a hiccup and staggered about.

"Lucy I'm Hoooooome!" The four guys stopped and stared at me, then their eyes hungrily groped my body. I had to hold up my role but inside I was disgusted. I continued to giggle like I was drunk.

"Ohh, I didn't know we had," *hiccup* "guests." I said smiling. The men were practically drooling on them selves.

Mira looked at me with confusion but then she looked over my attire then raised an eyebrow.

"Soooooo, I'm in neeeed for a goooooood tiiiiiimmmeee who wants to join?" I shrilled. The boys nodded to each other, threw Mira down and rushed to me. I felt them grab my arms. I grinned then called out, "now!" Out burst Shane, and he looked pissed. He grabbed one of the men and yak ed them down. I fought the other.

He punched left and I dodged right. I griped his arm and fell to a crouch causing him to fall. I got up then went to help Shane, but I didn't need to. The man was on the floor knocked unconscious.

"Watch out!" Cried Mira. I spun around just in time to catch a blow to the back. I let out a cry and fell down. He hit where Juliana hit. I gasped as pain shot through me. I saw Shane whirl around his eyes wide and murderous. He glared at the man then delivered a deadly kick to the chest. The man went sailing, screaming, but not before I heard several ribs crack.

Shane then turned to me, kneeling by me.

"Mackenzie! Are you ok?" He said. I saw the worry in his eyes. I wanted to answer but all I could manage was to gasp and grimace in pain.

"I'll kill you mother fucker!" I heard Shane yell. My eyes sprang open to see him bound to the other side of the room, straddle the unconscious man, then begin to punch him furiously. I saw Mira run out to her brother then try and pry him off of the man, but she couldn't. I gasped in pain. Damn! She did a number on me.

"Shane, I need help." I croaked. Almost immediately Shane stopped then looked at me. He nodded, stood up and walked over to me.

"We should get you to the hospital, Mackenzie." He said, his voice shaking slightly. I moaned in pain and shook my head.

"No hospital, just bruises, need Advil though." I ground out. I heard him grunt in response. He carried me back up to his room where he tucked me into the bed gently.

"I'm gonna get you that Advil, take care of those guys down stairs then be right back, ok?" I nodded then concentrated on the ceiling, my pain finally easing up, although my head throbbed. Not even ten minutes later, Shane re entered the room with a glass of water and two blue pills. Smiling gratefully I swallowed the pills and drank the water. The whole time he watched me silently sitting on the bed, his hand on my knee. When I was done, he took the glass and set to on his side table.
