The Date

I sat in my room, wearing my yellow "normal" teenager shirt with skinny jeans and my black Vans, my hair put in a side fishtail with my favourite beanie on, the rose Austin had given me in my hand.

"Bubbles! Austin's here!" Dad called. I inhaled deeply before going downstairs and seeing my date.

It feels weird saying that.

Date.

I've never had a boyfriend, nevermind went on a date.

Date.

Austin was standing in the living room, a cheesy grin plastered on his face. He was dressed in a classic black V-neck with skinny jeans that hung loosely below his waist. I smiled shyly, feeling slightly uncomfortable under his beautiful gaze.

Justin smirked at me before I walked over to Austin and grabbed his hand, entangling our fingers together, anxious for our date.

Date.

"Ready?" he asked me. I nodded and laughed silently. I was pretty nervous.

"Now," my dad began, "Make sure she is back before ten and since I have your phone number and Lily's, I'll call to check up on you both. Have fun."

I rolled my eyes as Austin and I walked out of my house and across the street to his.

"Sorry about having my mom drop us off," Austin explained embarrassingly.

I smiled before laughing. "That's okay," I began, "I never even officially met your mother."

He chuckled and grasped my hand a little tighter. "Don't worry, I'm getting my license next month," he said.

"Really? Who's going to buy you a car?" I asked, walking up his front steps.

He opened the door, a serious expression on his face. "I hadn't thought of that," he confessed before his mom pulled me in for a bear hug.

"Mom!" Austin hissed as his mom continued to squeeze me.

I laughed dryly, not able to breathe, she definitely liked me.

"Oh," she said, letting me go, "Where are my manners? I'm Michele, the famous Austin Mahone's mother." she said, sticking her hand out for a handshake.

"Mom, I'm not famous, I'm just on Youtube," Austin muttered.

I smiled and shook her hand before being pulled into another bone crushing hug.

"Oh my God, Mom! You're gonna crush her to death before our date," whined Austin.

She laughed heartily before placing me down and having Austin's arm sneak around my waist.

"Sorry honey, she's so pretty!" Michele exclaimed.

I blushed at her comment and Austin chuckled. "I know, that's why she's mine," he announced proudly.

I smiled, feeling the heat still on my face.

"Well," Michele said, grabbing her keys, "Let's roll. Get it? Because you kids are going skating," she explained.

I burst out laughing as Austin shook his head, his cheeks burning bright red. I absolutely adored his mom!

"Mom, drop us off a block away from the skating rink, will you?" Austin asked rhetorically before getting in the back of his mother's car.

"Austin, that's not nice," I argued.

"Oh my, she talks!" Michele laughed.

"Of course she talks mom, she's not mute." Austin smiled, grabbing my hand again.
