Austin's POV

I sat with my head in my hands.

Something didn't feel right. And in my heart I knew it had something to do with Lily.

“Austin, I'm taking a drive to the store to get some things, want anything?” My mom called from downstairs.

“No, I'm good.” I answered. I heard the door close and her car engine start up, leaving the driveway.

I got dressed quickly. I had to figure out what this feeling was.

Third Person POV

Candy slammed Lily into the wall repeatedly as onlooking girls recorded the scene.

“Let me have a turn.” Willow demanded. Candy let go of Lily's hair and walked away after spitting on her. Willow began forcefully kicking Lily in her sides as Lily helplessly tried to cover her face. Candy joined in again on the beating and punched her every place that Lily couldn't cover. Poor Lily was crying loudly but nobody was helping her.

“Before we finish I got an idea.” Candy interjected. She pulled out a metal coffee cup and ordered for Willow to hold down her arms. Willow hesitantly did what she was asked as Candy sat on Lily and grinned.

“Honestly, if your father hadn't broken up with my mother and caused her to kill herself then you wouldn't be in this situation.” She whispered into Lily's ear before brutally beating Lily's face with the mug. Blood seeped out of areas that were opened up and even from her mouth and nose. Lily couldn't see anything going on anymore as her eyes were swollen shut. The mug created deep incisions on her face that would most definitely need stitches if Lily were to survive.

If.

Lily was unconscious and laying in a pool of her own blood.

Willow threw Candy off of Lily. “What the fuck? Are you crazy?” Candy tried to continue beating Lily but a few girls held her back. They knew this had gone too far.

“Mrs. Terry! Help! Please hurry!” Willow cried. The female gym teacher came bolting into the girls locker room and saw the bloody pile of Lily.

Pulling out her cell phone and calling the ambulance, she checked Lily's pulse. Her face paled.

“I need an ambulance to San Antonio High School please. I have a girl here with no pulse and head trauma plus blood loss.” She said into the phone frantically. All the girls looked at each other guiltily, they knew it was their fault. The teacher told the girls to keep an eye on her while she ran to go and get the paramedics.

Willow glared at Candy. “It’s your fault she's like this.”

“Excuse me, you had much to do in this as well as me.” Candy accused.

“I didn't beat her with a coffee mug!” Willow screamed to her. The girls glared at each other while Lily continued to bleed out on the tiled floor.

“Hurry!” They heard Mrs. Terry say as she ran back into the girls locker room with two paramedics and a stretcher. The paramedics put the dead girl in the stretcher and began to run as fast as they could to the truck. The principal stayed with Mrs. Terry to figure out what happened and to deal out punishment.

The paramedics rushed outside and that's when Austin seen what was going on. His face fell as he laid eyes on the barely recognizable girl. Tears built in his eyes and he immediately ran to her.

“Sir get back.” One of the paramedics told him.

“She’s my girlfriend!” He cried out in sadness. “Let me help her!” The paramedics looked at each other and shook their heads.

“If you wanna help her, pray for her. It's the only thing you can do. Hurry, let's go to the hospital.” Austin climbed into the truck with the paramedics and held Lily's lifeless hand.

This poor girl couldn't get a break, he thought to himself as his thumb stroke her cold, pale hand. Please God, if you really care for us, give Lily the strength to live through this. Give her the strength to continue to live regardless of everything that has occurred. If you could do that for me God, I would never be more grateful. Amen.
