Austin and I began to walk down the street, far from the skating rink.
"You're pretty quiet," Austin said, disrupting the silence. "are you feeling okay?"
I shrugged. "I'm a bit tired to be honest."
He chuckled, making me look at him. "It's only eight thirty. What did you do last night?"
My heart stopped, along with my feet.
James was what I did. Not literally but pretty close.
How can I yell at Austin about that party when I pretty much cheated on him last night? That's such a hypocritical move!
"Nothing." I muttered, continuing my walk.
Austin eyed me suspiciously. "Lily?"
I snapped. "Leave me alone! It was nothing and I would feel more guilty if I hadn't known about that damn party!"
Austin looked at me confused. "What're you talking about?"
I shook my head. "Don't act like you don't know. Candy told me that she texted you after Alex, Robert and Tyler showed up without you. You texted her back saying you'd be right there and left me the day of the God damn barbecue, Austin. I knew it was too good to be true."
He chuckled. "That's a lie. What really happened was I told the guys to go to the party without me, I was going to your house and was going to hang out with you. Well, while they were at the party Robert got piss drunk and the other guys were pretty drunk too and asked me to pick them up. I decided to go, even though I only have my learners permit. I lied to you because I didn't want you to think that my friends are more important to me than you are."
"But you still lied to me." I confirmed.
"Yes." He admitted, his head hanging low. It soon came back up though. "What about you? What did you do that you would've felt more guilty if you hadn't found out about the party?" His voice picking up some anger in it.
"I uh..." I looked down at the ground. "I didn't do it intentionally, it just happened."
"What happened? You're making me feel like it's an incredibly bad thing you did."
"He... he..." I was choking on my words and willing myself not to cry.
"He what?" Austin asked, barely containing his anger.
"He... made me feel good." I cried.
His hands balled into fists. "Who?" Austin's eyes became dark.
"Austin please, calm down."
"Where did he do it?" He asked. I felt as if he asked me where I was touched by a molester but in all honesty, he was my friend.
"Austin-"
"What did you let him do?" His voice sounded demonic almost.
"I told you." I exclaimed, embarrassed.
"Tell me, now or we're done."
"He rubbed me down there okay? He put his hand in my pants." I cried embarrassed. Tears fell from my eyes and I couldn't help but want to run away. So I ran.
"Lily, come back." He called.
I stopped and sank to my knees. I heard his foot steps behind me but my sobs were coming out hard.
I heard him sigh before crouching down to my level. "Listen Lily," I stopped crying to listen to him. I probably looked ridiculous with my eyes red and make-up smeared. "I think it's best if we take a break for awhile." He planted a hesitant kiss on my cheek. His lips felt cold against my cheek. "Bye Lily." He stood up and proceeded to walk away.
