In order to participate, everybody put in their individual efforts to train, and those two weeks flew by in the blink of an eye. Our class was now in the break room, some sitting around contemplating the possible events that we would face, some threatening others, and some (like me) who were ignoring everyone else, with their headphones in, listening to music to get them pumped up.
I was listening to Worldstar by Childish Gambino, which always made me feel like a badass, and stretching out my limbs which were sore, due to the 5+ hour fight that Katsuki and I faced yesterday. We stopped when we both fell to the ground, muttering curses in exhaustion. In reality, I could blast him to smithereens if I used my quirk full out, which was what he wanted to see, but I didn't want do that. I don't know why, I just felt strong reservations when it came to hurting Bakugou, or him getting hurt in general.
I glanced over to the boy, whose eyes I me for a split second before he turned away. Still angry, huh?
Anyways, I didn't have the time to be upset over the whole ordeal. I had to concentrate on today, the sports festival. All the attention was going to be on the freshman this year, on my class. And if I wanted to come in anywhere near to first place, which I obviously did like anyone else, I would have to use my quirk. BUT, how would I use my quirk and not reveal it, when the entire world virtually was watching.
I rolled my ankle out, coming to a decision. I would use my air quirk. I was used to the air quirk more than any other, seeing as I used it often, so I know it won't spin out of control. On top of that, in my opinion, it's the most powerful. I can use it to run faster, or to fly, or to throw people, or to strengthen my punches, etc. And it was very vague. Nobody will know I'm using air, it could be anything: telekinesis, flying, super strength, etc. Yeah, air it is.
I lean over my leg, grabbing onto the balls of my feet and stretching my tight hamstrings out when I hear a notification. I lean over to my phone, which had a text from an unknown number.
Sorry I missed you last time, but I won't today. See you soon :)
My eyebrows shot together as I reread the message, making sure I didn't give someone my number that would be here today or something of the sort.
Ochako, who had been sitting near me, leaned over my phone reading the message. I tried turning the phone off, but it was too late; she saw.
"Ooooh (y/n)-chan, is that your booooyfriend?" She asked cheekily, much louder than she needed to. I felt the entire room's attention burning into me, and I sighed, turning to the excited Ochako, knowing she didn't mean any harm.
"No, honestly I have no idea who it is. I got a text from the same number the day of the battle trial, saying the same thing basically. I wonder how they got my number..." I began wondering aloud, and a large portion of the attention was averted from the situation as Shouto challenged Midoriya, and I sighed in relief.
I felt a tap on my shoulder, but as I turned, I saw nobody, jumping when I heard a voice squeak out. The invisible girl.
"H-Hi (l/n), I meant to tell you this earlier, but I forgot, sorry. When I was hiding in the landslide zone at U.S.J, I saw some guy yelling at the rest of the lackies, asking where (y/n) was. It just came to my mind, he seemed pretty ticked off." She explained and I became even more confused. Who in hell?
My internal mystery was cut off by the sound of present-mic's voice booming through the intercom, telling us it was time to make our appearance on the battlefield. I cracked my knuckles, while standing up, completely forgetting about the possible dangerous situation as excitement and anxiety filled me up, and I wasn't the only one.
