Keely greeted him, giving him a tight hug, not wanting to let go, he was her world, just as she was his. They walked in unusual silence towards the front gate. Calum, being the gentleman that he is, always walked Keely home, as he only lived a few blocks away and wanted to make sure that she got home safe, plus; her mum made the best scones he had ever tasted and always had one ready for him at the end of each day.

"Cal, I need to tell you something"

Keely's voice broke Calum from his thoughts.

"Go ahead" he said, secretly hoping she wouldn't notice just how much his voice shook.

"I'mmovingschools" It all came out in a jumble.

"What?" He questioned, not sure whether he had misheard her or he just didn't want to believe it.

She took a deep breath, "After we graduate, i'm going to an all girls school to finish high school" She explained.

"But why? What about me? We've been together since we were little, you can't leave me now" He sighed.

"I have to Cal. Mum and Dad think it's the best thing for me, they want me to have the best education possible." She said.

Calum stayed silent, and with tears spilling out of her eyes Keely simply said "I'm sorry, I wish my parents would let me go to the same school as you, because I don't know what I'm going to do without you either." She took a step towards Calum wanting one of his big, warm and safe hugs, but he stepped back.

"I'm sorry too" He said before running off down the street towards his own house.

- CALUM'S POINT OF VIEW -

I burst through the door, slamming it shut on my way through, not even bothering to take off my shoes as I stamped upstairs to my bedroom. How could she do this to me? My best friend of all people. I seriously don't know what I will do without her next year. She may not realise it, but I rely on her for so many different things no matter how big or how small. I sighed sitting down on my bed, giving in to my own thoughts.

- KEELY'S POINT OF VIEW -

I walked into the house feeling empty. Calum didn't hug me. This had never happened, we'd never had a fight. Passing my mum, I jogged downstairs to my bedroom, wanting to forget about this horrible day. Sinking down into my bean bag, I looked blankly at the photos on my wall, most of which Calum were in. We had seriously done everything together since I can remember. I couldn't even begin to imagine what next year would be like.

Keely and Calum both sat, doing the same thing; completely unaware of exactly how alike they were.

Something was about to change, all with the ring of a doorbell and a brave decision made by a 12 year old boy.
