I was staring at her form, when she looked around and saw me. There was recognition in her eyes. She remembered me from earlier. That was good.
Then, she smiled the beautiful smile. Again, I was captivated. I took a step towards her, excited.
But Alex groaned. He slapped me on the cheek to get my attention.
"Toilet!" he lulled barely comprehensible to my face.
I tore my gaze away from her and looked at my friend. He looked alarmed.
"Where is it?" Alex asked.
"It's inside. How urgent is it?" I inquired impatiently.
"Dude, red alert, red alert!" he said panicked.
I looked around again to look for her, but she was gone. I sighed and helped my friend to the facilities.
He owed me big time.
We took the cab home to my place. Yep, only three blocks away, but I could not be bothered dragging him along on foot. I was tired for Christ sake, and also, I was a little mad that I didn't get the chance to talk to the woman with the smoky eyes and red lips.
At home Alex immediately fell asleep on the couch. I went to the kitchen to get him something to drink. He needed to drink something before I let him rest for the night, he could thank me later.
On my way back from the kitchen I passed the front door. I heard giggling sounds, then there was a laugh, her laugh.
Was I imagining things? I walked to the front door and opened it. There was nobody in the hallway. I just heard the door across the hall being locked.
That could not have been her. It was just wishful thinking. She really left an impression on me, that had to be why she and her laughter were still on my mind.

"Ems, get over here. I need a tissue to wipe my face clean." came Megan's voice from the alley.
Those words broke the spell. I had been staring at the dream guy who was looking worriedly at his drunk friend, Alex. So, he was Alex' friend who was going to pick him up. At least now I knew something about him. I had a hint of how to find him again after tonight, I thought as I hurried over to the alley.
I held my breath and walked backwards into the alley with my outstretched hand holding the tissue for my friend. Even the sight of vomit could make me want to puke too. She grabbed it and cleaned her face, while I waited.
"Let's go home, Ems. I am sleeping over at your place tonight." Megan stated, as she led the way home in a hurry.
"Did you have fun? Even a little?" she asked while we were walking side by side.
"Yeah, I did. Thank you for forcing me." I replied.
"I knew it. Let's go again next weekend!" Megan insisted happily.
"Oh no! No, no, no, no. I gave in this once for tonight to celebrate the occasion of my moving into my first apartment. Please, I want to take it easy. I promise I won't turn into a hermit, but I need time. It has only been a few months since the breakup. I am not ready to go out there again and date. I want to enjoy being single right now." I said, but the handsome face of Alex' friend came to my mind.
