It was Vic.
I shook my head and closed my eyes shut tightly before opening it wide again to look closely and to make sure it really was him. However, when my I stared at the spot again, the person had already left.
Maybe it was just my imagination? My mind was playing tricks on me, because I talked about him with Megan. I even dreamt of him before waking up earlier.
I had a nightmare in which I was trying to run away from someone, I didn't actually see the face of the person following me, but my legs seemed to be too heavy for me to move fast enough to escape him. My bad dream ended with me waking up when he was about to grab me, and I woke up gasping for air, my alarm clock buzzing in my ears muffling my racing heart beat.
Peter began to drive and I took one last glance at the spot where I thought I saw Vic. There was no sign of him whatsoever. I must have really just imagined it.

At Levi's house I did the usual, check up on his father who was doing great and who was already working at home in his office. He promised to mind his temper during his phone calls so we wouldn't have to worry about his blood pressure. I warned him that I would stop him from working if I had the feeling that he was stressing himself too much, for the sake of his health. He agreed and kept his promise to keep his composure as best as he could.
Technically, the presence of us nurses wasn't necessary anymore, but Levi insisted on us working there until the deal his father was working on was settled. That would mean until next weekend. I was relieved to know that I was finally going back to my old routine at the hospital.
When Mr. Holloway finally went to bed, it was then that I could ease up a little. I decided to sit by the pool and let my mind wander. Throughout the whole time when I was busy, thoughts of Vic didn't bother me, however, there was an uneasiness I felt which I couldn't explain. It was as if my gut was aware of something I wasn't and it was trying to warn me of an impending disaster or problem. I just couldn't put my finger on it.
Fortunately, my phone rang and took my mind off of the topic of Vic. I took it with me before going outside the house. It was Keane. He said he wasn't sure if I was going to pick up as I was at work. It told him that I was taking a break at that very moment so he called at the perfect time. He only wanted to let me know that he was going to stay at his aunt's house for a couple of days to talk to her and her family and spend some time. I told him that I was happy for him, but also a bit sad as I would miss him, and he retorted that he would miss me just as much. After hanging up the phone I already dreaded the upcoming days without him, but I focused on the positive aspect of the situation, namely him finally bonding with his family.
Suddenly I heard someone clearing his throat behind me, I turned to look and saw Levi approaching. I hadn't seen him that night yet, he had been sent to go to the office by his father as a stand in to delegate in his place, which was almost superfluous as his dad kept calling him instead of letting him handle things by himself.
"There you are," he said before lying down on the lounger next to mine, "I've been looking all over for you. Hobsworth didn't know where you were either." He sighed deeply, "I couldn't do what my father is doing. Business is so not for me." I turned to my side to face him, "What is it you want to do instead?"
He looked up the sky, at the stars and said, "Honestly, I would love to just open up a surf board rental of sorts some place like Hawaii or something, and maybe give surfing lessons too. I just love the outdoors very much and enjoy adventurous activities. And when I get tired of a place, I'll just move on to the next one and start all over again there, and so on and so forth until the end of my days." His eyes were twinkling and he wore a big grin when he turned his head to look at me. "What do you think? Are you up for it? Wanna come with me?" He winked.
