Chapter Fourteen

Dumb and Dumber

Sienna's POV –

I hadn't ever thought that sitting down and having a mature conversation with Jacob would be terrifying, yet here I was, scared as hell. Well, not necessarily scared, just anxious. Like the kind of stomach drops that you would experience when going in for an exam or being in a relationship for the first time. The awkwardness of just not knowing what to do in the situation...

And it was kind of sad that this was how I felt when I was supposed to be content with my boyfriend. That is, if he still wanted to be my boyfriend after tonight.

Since my dorm room was closer and his residential college was further (since he wasn't in the same as mine) and I think the both of us just wanted to have this inevitable talk over and done with, we headed to my dorm. We reached my door and I unlocked it, praying that Chelsea hadn't gone back to our dorm so I wouldn't have either ask her to leave or have an awkward conversation in front of her with her ex-boyfriend.

I opened the door a little bit, almost in apprehension, and with the creak, I prayed that Chelsea wasn't in there. Guess I had no luck.

"Jacob? Sienna? What are you doing here?"

What was I doing here? Surprise, surprise, she's actually in the dorm room.

"What do you mean?" I frowned, keeping my sarcastic thoughts to myself.

"Um, nothing. I just didn't expect to see the two of you here is all." She mumbled, her face turning red.

"I didn't expect to see you here either." I replied.

I really didn't want to start any argument with Chelsea because she was my close friend but that was just it. She was supposed to be my friend yet she avoided me at all costs and was continuously brushing me off, resorting to Ally instead. Now again, I was not jealous of Ally. Of course, I wished that Chelsea would come speak to me and I was frustrated that she wouldn't. Everything about her had become eerily cryptic.

"Well I'm here."

"I know." I nodded.

We all stood there, Chelsea standing in front of the couch and Jacob behind me in the entrance of the door. I had my eyes focused on the floor, trying to think of something to say. I didn't want to exactly kick Chelsea out of the dorm room because it was her place too, even though she was never here. But I also didn't want to sit down and have a serious conversation with my boyfriend (and her ex-boyfriend) right in front of her.

I lifted my gaze to speak when I noticed Chelsea's entire face had turned a bright red and she was looking at Jacob. As soon as she noticed me, her head went down. With a frown, I turned around to look at Jacob who was looking at the wall.

"Is there something going on here?" I asked, my pitch rising in anxiety.

"No!" They simultaneously objected.

"Okay..."

"Chelsea could you leave for a little while? I want to speak with Sienna in private please." Jacob's voice was full of authority.

"No."

Great, she was going to leave – wait – what?! She said no?

"Chelsea..."

"Jacob, this is my dorm room, too. Whatever you can say in front of Sienna you can say in front of me." She shrugged.

I narrowed my eyes at her and was trying to process her sudden attitude.
