Chapter Twenty Four
Bride Wars
Sienna's POV –
"You're lying."
"Mum, I'm not lying."
"Don't you dare lie to me, Enna. I am your mother. Now don't tell me you did not get me strippers!"
"You told me you wanted a movie marathon!" I exclaimed, watching her eyes widen in horror.
"Yeah, because your dad was there! Oh my God, my last night being truly single and you actually didn't get me any strippers!" She plummeted her face in her hands, groaning loudly like a child.
We were only a few people today, considering if we invited one person, we'd have to invite the whole female population of Stanwell Vale. And I was pretty sure we wouldn't be able to fit five hundred and fifty eight girls in my small home. So it was just me, my mum, Ally and her mum (seeing as they were best friends) and my dad's two sisters.
We just finished watching our last movie, Bride Wars, and it was reaching two in the morning. We had to sleep now if we wanted to be wide awake for the rehearsal dinner and then tomorrow, the wedding. My mum wasn't bridezilla at all, considering her and my dad had been practically married for years now. She was calm – excited really. And if she was nervous, she didn't show it at all.
But... she did look pretty upset that there were no strippers.
"I'm firing you from maid of honour." She grumbled, glaring in my direction.
I laughed loudly and rolled my eyes, as I hopped off the couch and collected the paper cups that were empty from the soft drink we had consumed tonight. I wouldn't be surprised if our teeth began to decay from now from the amount of junk we had.
I ran to the kitchen and threw everything in the bin, running back to the lounge room where everyone looked like they were fit enough to pass out. I laughed at the sight of them, especially my mother who was half asleep and still complaining that she wanted strippers.
"Alright!" I clapped my hands together, jolting them to awaken. "Everyone go to bed. Jen and mum, go up to your room." I said, gesturing to Ally's mum and mine. "Aunt Julie and Mad, you're in Alex's room and Ally and I are in my room." I announced.
They all groaned incoherent words that Ally and I laughed at – we seemed to be the only two people who were actually awake today. They all stood up and as my mum passed me, she said something like 'you didn't get me strippers'. I was considering just getting strippers now to see her sleep in front of them.
"Bye mum." I sang, snickering at her and Jen trying to get themselves up the stairs.
My aunts hugged me goodnight and retired to Alex's bedroom whilst Ally and I skipped to my room. We were both in our pyjamas and so I just removed the décor pillows and spread out the blanket. I had a queen sized bed, so sleeping beside Ally would be no problem.
I hopped on one side of the bed while Ally took the other, our phones buzzing simultaneously. I laughed and grabbed my phone from the bedside table.
"That was creepy." I muttered, turning the light on for my phone.
I saw that I had a new message, as was confused when Chelsea's name was sprawled on the screen.
"Who is it?" I asked Ally.
"Mike." She smiled, her features brightening.
I kind of felt disappointed that I hadn't seen Liam's face on my screen, but I brushed the feeling off and slid the message open.
