Nina groaned annoyingly at the sun's rays shining in through the windows and on her face. Because of this, Nina began shifting her body and getting comfortable once again, going instantly back to sleep.
But when she heard what felt like soft slow breathes, she propped her eyes open and lifted herself, so she was now sitting on the bed. The brunette took hold of her surroundings, and took the realization that she had fallen asleep in Paul's hospital room.
She looked next to her, and saw Paul peacefully sleeping right next to her. Nina blushed a little at the fact of them being so close, she remembered how their night went as a grin appeared on her face.
They spent hours on hours talking about random topics and sweet nothings. This went going until the both of then eventually drifted into a slumber. Paul did not want Nina to be sleeping in a siting position, which is why he placed her close to him. With her head on his chest, her arms and legs draped over him, he didn't mind though. He'd much rather have her sleep this way other then in a chair that didn't allow movement or any shift in position.
Nina slowly lifts herself off Paul, careful to not wake him up. As she does so successfully, she quietly exits his room, closing the door ever so gently.
She walks her way into the cafeteria, hunger having taken over the minute she woke up. Nina walks into the cozy environment, with their dark brown walls and beige chairs. The sound of silent voices in conversation.
It was inviting, warm. Something she did not expect from a hospital if she's being honest. She lazily walked towards the line, her eyes roaming on what breakfast options there were.
She didn't see anything appetizing that she'd enjoy, so instead she headed straight to where the coffee was located. Making one for herself and for Paul, she decided to get some small morning snack to relieve her appetite.
**
She knocked on the door to Paul's room, alerting him that she'll be coming in. When she opened it, she didn't see Paul lying on the bed, curious she called out to him.
"Paul?" Nina said, as she set down the coffees and snacks.
"Yeah? I'm in the shower, I'll be right out." He answered back
She sighed, but then frowned at the thought. "Wait, I thought the doctor said you couldn't get off the bed without support for another week or so."
She heard the shower head turn off, and the curtain open in one swift movement. She averted her gaze elsewhere, not wanting to invade his privacy. She heard the sink of the bathroom squeak on, assuming he must now be brushing his teeth. But she kept her back turned from him.
"Turns out, he's wrong I started moving around by myself pretty quickly, you should have seen the look on the nurse's face when she saw me walking around so normally. Come to think of it, where did you-"
He exited the bathroom, in looks of Nina. With one hand holding the toothbrush, and the other loosely at his side. He furrowed his eyebrows as he looked to see Nina facing the other direction.
"Nina, what are you doing?" Paul asked.
"Hm? Oh nothing, just....... admiring the wall" Nina lied, she cringed at that.
"Really, you.... admiring the wall"
"Yeah, the color is so pretty, I was thinking of maybe getting this painted somewhere in my house."
