"God, I love you." Nina says, her eyes opening wide soon after those words were spilled out her mouth. Her heart started to quicken at irregular paces and her immediate reaction was to get up and get out before Paul can say anything.

"I-I'm sorry that was never meant to come out.. I got to go." She says as she hurries herself out his bedroom, picking up each item of hers and putting them back on sloppy, dropping her shoes in the process.

Paul quickly puts his boxers on and hurries to her, seeing her flustered state was rather adorable but it was difficult to concentrate on that when she's rushing out the door over what she said.

"Nina." Paul calmly says, watching her put her shoes back on as she sat on his couch.

"No- stop, don't just don't." The brunette exclaims, her brows furrowed while trying so hard not to look at the surprising expression on Paul's face. This was it, she had ruined the one good thing that was happening in her life right now and taking back those words weren't an option, because she mean them in the most passionate way.

"I just need to go home, take care of Lynx and other stuff. I'll just see you tomorro-"

"Nina! Just slow the fuck down and stop! Why are you all the sudden rushing out? You haven't allowed me to say a single word to you and you're all ready on your way out?" He says, confused and quite frankly upset that she was all of the sudden leaving. "If you wanted to keep things casual, you should have told me that. Not drag me along this whole thing." Paul says lastly, turning slightly away from the brunette as he tugged on his hair.

Nina looked at him with shock, not sure what he was referring to but the sound of it was terribly put together. "Wha-what do you mean casual? I said what I said, does that even mean anything!?" Nina shouts directly at Paul, standing up and slowly approaching him, he does not answer back, instead his back is completely turned away from her, not wanting her to see the glossiness of his eyes. At that moment, the silence that suffocated the room was the one thing that drove Nina to tears welling up in her eyes.

"If you wanted to keep things casual, you shouldn't have gone out your way to do it. If all I am is a fuck to you then congratulations asshole you got what you wanted." And with that she stormed away and towards the door, only for it to be forcefully closed in front of her once again. She turned around and saw him standing there his eyes so focused on her very own brown ones.

"You aren't just a fuck to me Nina, you mean so much to me and the fact that you accuse me of belittling you is... it drives me insane!" He says, and she swore at that moment Paul's eyes screamed that he loved her too, but then again it could always be the delusion of her own mind.

"Let me go Paul! I'm serious, let me fucking leave." She says, anger beginning to rush to her mind again. She pushed his arm away, not paying any attention to his voice calling out her name over and over again.

It could have been her own mind, or the ways his eyes sparked and screamed but she too thought that Paul felt the same way. She never meant for "I love you" to come out so soon but it did and she thought that it would have been okay, because she was convinced that he did. The silence he gave, his eyes widening at her confession was enough to tip her over the edge and close herself off. Perhaps this could be karma for breaking up with Ian in the height of their relationship, or the fact that Candace was right. Paul was not the guy for her.

She clears her throat as she took yet another swing of tequila, forcefully placing the shot cup onto her coffee table. Nina sat there in her own silence, picking up her phone when she sees that her best friend texted.

Julianne: Be there in 5!

Nina: I'll be here

Nina gently throws her phone back onto the couch, rubbing her temples while replaying the whole scene in her head that happened just a few hours before. She hears the sound of her phone vibrate, swiftly picking it up and checking if it's him. To her disappointment, it wasn't.
