"He was suppose to be back like 2 hours ago, his phone is going straight to voicemail, he isn't answering any of my text messages. I'm worried.. do you think I did something wrong? Are we going to fast? I don't think we are, but if we were he'd tell me. He'd let me know. I mean it's not like we haven't kissed before. We have.. as Elena and Stefan... am I overthinking it? I think I am.. but then agai-"
"Nina! You're rambling, you need to relax and stop overanalyzing things. Paul isn't that type of guy and you of all people should knows this" Candice interrupts, grabbing the bottle of wine and pouring more into her cup as well as Nina's cup.
"I just.... I really like this kid. He makes me feel... all giddy inside, you know all warm. Like when you stand in front of the sun on a late evening and you feel its heat hit your skin? That kind of warmness."
Candice rolled her eyes and eyed Nina up and down as she heard the brunette speak so poetically of Paul.
"The way you talk about him is so cute that it disgusts me." She says, taking a sip of wine.
"Shut up!" Nina smirked, playfully hitting Candice on the shoulder.
A silence falls between them as they both drifted into their own minds. It was a peaceful silence, one that the costars can fall into and not feel awkward about it because it was that safe.
Nina speaks up, causing Candice to come back from her thoughts to genuinely hear what Nina was thinking about.
"You know... sometimes I feel like this all isn't real. A dream instead of a reality and I'm currently living in it. It's so surreal because before I use to just day dream of how me and Paul would be in a relationship. We aren't in one now but even then , the fact that I was given a chance is just enough to satisfy the idea of good coming to those who wait." The Bulgarian woman said with such sincerity.
The blonde woman sitting directly next to Nina looks at her meaningfully, thinking on what to say to something said so delicately and vulnerably.
"Paul is a great man, he's always have been. Sometimes it confuses me as to why Torrey would just up and leave him that way. He was always so invested with her. He did not deserve that heartbreak for sure. I'm just glad you finally came to terms with your feelings and had the bravery to tell him. Ian was good to you, but you settled for him because Paul was committed. It was fair that you ended it after realizing what you really felt these past years." She said truthfully.
Hearing about how much Paul loved Torrey or if he still perhaps loves her makes Nina very envious. Bad thoughts start to form about the intentions of Paul and if he is committed to her the way he says he is. Actions speak louder than words as they say which is what the Bulgarian woman always looks out for. Yet with the way Candice describes the love Torrey and Paul shared while Nina still has not heard from him yet has made her assume the worse. What if he's with her trying to work it out? What if she changed her mind and finally realized who she's about to lose?
Eventually, these predicaments caused Nina to become very curious and annoyed to these possibilities.
"While I was with Ian, I did love him. He was not my convenience all because Paul was with Torrey. Paul is a great man who deserves a great person and it seems to me that she was not it. Marriage or not, she was always selfish of the fact he was working too often or not spending much time with her, which did seem reasonable because you always want your husband by your side at all times but there is more to marriage than just the presence of one another, you know? At least that's what I believe. He has told me things, small things, he did everything possible to make her happy but marriage isn't always the conclusion to a happy ever after." She voiced in an annoying tone, as if she wanted to convince this more to herself than to Candice. It was getting to her all over again.
