I was sound asleep in the tree until I heard soft mumbling. I tried to ignore it but it got louder. I finally decided to open my eyes in search if the mumbling. I looked at the ground to see Sam-San eating a person. I quickly averted my eye to see Gaby pacing back and forth, mumbling something to herself. She locked eyes with me and then we unintentionally started a staring contest. We both blinked at the same time. Then Gaby spoke up. "Do you mind explaining, that." She gestured to me and Larry. I was snuggled up in his chest as he held my waist protectively. "Huh?" I asked not understanding. She pointed to is again. Then it hit me. I didn't tell her yet did I. Oops!

"Oh, this. Um about that. Me and Larry are kind if a thing..." Gaby blinked slowly. "Since when?" She asked. "Shortly after the world ended. " I answered, getting more nervous by the second. "Oh, well congrats!" She congratulates us which catches me off guard. Then she just walks off to Bobo and Cathy's tree. They were in opposite sides. Gaby pushed them off the tree while saying, "Rise and shine!" Bobo propped herself up on her elbows and winced. Cathy rolled around in pain. "Oh come in! The tree wasn't even that high!" Gaby said. I woke up Larry and we got off the tree. After Bobo and Cathy recovered we decided to continue in our journey.

We walked for 2 hours and then took a break near a field of strawberries. Surprisingly they were all ripe. We picked some and had a little snack. Afterwards we picked some more for later. Then we continued walking. After a while of nothing but farmlands I saw a sign. There was a billboard but there was spray paint over the rotting paper. Jeez, I didn't know paper rotted that fast! Anyways there was a message on the billboard. It said 'Up ahead - Shadow town (You're not welcome here) Seems like a good place! Let's go! I proudly walked forward while the others hesitated a bit. They followed anyways.

As soon as farmlands were gone, the sky was grey with pollution. The streets were littered and cracked. Telephones poles were knocked down left and right. Once we saw houses they were all boarded up and had chain link fences surrounding them and were also covered in barbed wire. I blinked twice and walked forward, silently gripping my brass knuckles. Emma had a tight grip on her sword while Larry held his crossbow at aim. Bobo held her bat close to her while Cathy readied her machete. Everyone was on edge while I was walking with confidence and pride. But I will not lie when I say that I was scared out if my mind. After we walked for not even 10 minutes we were surrounded by people that wore black robes. Their hoods were pulled up so that we couldn't see their faces. "You shouldn't be here, outsider." One of them said. Venom dripping from their voice when they said outsiders. "Did I ask if we were welcome? No, so shut up!" I said, tying I sound confident. They all chuckled darkly as they silently closed in. They didn't see my brass knuckles yet, advantage!

As soon as one was an arm's length away from me I rushed forward and slammed my fist right into his nose. He howled in pain as he held his face. I was still prepared for another attack. "Come get some!" I yelled out, still pretty scared. They stood still, not moving an inch. The man was still rolling on the ground in agony. I probably broke his nose. The hooded figures all slowly retreated, leaving behind the guy in the floor. Nice. I sighed and walked past the guy that was hurting. "Wait!" Bobo called out from behind me. I look over my shoulder to see her. She was kneeling next to the man. "We can't just leave him!" Bobo said concerned. "We can and will." I said with no emotion. "Fine then, I'll help him by myself. " Bobo said while sitting him up. I sigh, very annoyed as I walk over to the poor sucker.

After we helped him to his home he actually offered to let us spend the night. I was about to decline when i realized that it was getting late. I agreed. He led us into a cozy little house. He didn't have much but it was enough to live. He led us to the upstairs portion of his house. Sadly
Sam-Sam had to stay outside. He only had one large bedroom to spare but it was better than nothing. The bed was given to Emma and Larry (wink wink nudge nudge). Bobo and Cathy slept on the floor with makeshift beds. There was a large circle window that I was to sleep in. Once the sun dipped under the horizon it was lights out in shadow town. However the night time was when they were the most active. Going out and collecting supplies. Clearing the town of raised. The others had already fallen asleep by now, leaving me alone to my thoughts. I was scared. I had never been out of town like this before. I would only leave for vacation and even then I would have a terrible time trying to sleep. It's even worse now that I know I can't go back and it's also the apocalypse.

I blankly stared out the window and watched the stars twinkling. I sighed and closed my eyes trying to get some rest. It don't come easily. My senses were 10 times more sensitive. I heard every sound in the house. I could smell the pollution from outside. I felt every atom that was brushing against my skin. Then out of nowhere my arm started throbbing. I squeezed my eyes tighter in pain. I rolled up my sleeve to look at the damage. There was still bandages wrapped around my bite just in case. I removed the bandages painfully slow. I looked at the wound. It looked terrible. It wasn't 'infected' but it looked like it was. The wound had reopened with near black blood coming out. The veins that surrounded had turned dark and were popping out. The blood was coagulating but wouldn't clot. I began to panic. My breathes came out short as my body was steadily rising in heat. I jumped out of my bed and rushed to the bathroom after I grabbed a medkit. I cleaned the wound and rebandaged it with fresh blood still pumping out. I began to get a little lightheaded. I looked into the mirror and noticed that my nose was bleeding. It wasn't that much but still, I new that blood inside my body. I wiped off the blood and grabbed a tissue from a conveniently placed tissue box. I put a tissue ini the bleeding nostril and tilted my head back. My arm was now numb. I leaned against the door of the bathroom in an attempt I steady myself. Slowly but surely I was feeling better. After a while of just standing there with shaky legs, my arm was all better and my nosebleed stopped. I sighed and left the bathroom. I dragged my legs back to the bedroom and laid back down into my window bed. That was something.
