Ringleader's POV (general)
After dinner I had curled up into a ball of sorrow and just laid next to the tree. The sun was warm on my skin while a gentle breeze caressed my cheek. My eyelids grow heavy, but I fight the urge to sleep. The MIND is silent as most of 'them' are asleep, satisfied with the food. I believe I'm the only one left. The world seems perfect at this moment, as if global warming, terrorist attacks, and all that other sh*t never happened. I don't remember how long it's been nor what season it is. I can't remember what month or day it is nor what the time is. All I know is here and now. All I know is I'm alive and breathing and surviving. Larry walks over to me and sits near my head. He's saying something but I can't focus enough to hear it. Soon my ears are filled with static. I can't hear the leaves rustling or the birds singing. Just an endless sea of static. I blink slowly. My breathes are even. My eyelids close and don't open while my breath steadies and just like that, I'm asleep.
Archer's POV
I needed to test something. After Gabberdink ate I walked over and sat near her. She was falling asleep, but I needed to check. I asked her a simple question, "What's your name?" She didn't answer. I tried something else, "Do you know who I am?" Still no response. I tried a few other questions but they stilled ended in silence. I finally decided to look at her to see her peacefully sleeping. I sigh. I'll just have to check when she wakes up. I need to know if she still has a good memory. During the time we were checking her injuries, we noticed that she hit her head, pretty badly. Her skull wasn't cracked but she did get a concussion. I got up from my spot on the ground and grabbed a handful of rags. I lifted Gaby's head and placed them under it to make a makeshift pillow. She didn't wake up. I sit back down and lean against the tree, enjoying the warm rays of sunlight on my face. My lips are dried and cracked while I look as really pale. The apocalypse can do things to you. Emma should be back soon.
Ringleader's POV (general)
It's been ages since the last time I had a good sleep. Well, it was nice while it lasted. I woke up to people arguing, loud. I tried to ignore it at first, but then it got louder and louder. Then I had enough. I opened my eyes, around sunset, and sat up. I stood up and walked to the argument. Everyone, except Bobo was surrounding Emma. They kept on saying that it was stupid and dangerous, or something like that. Confused I walk closer. Emma seems to be cradling something close to her body. I edge closer. I hear pitiful whimpers. I take a step closer. She hugs it protectively. One step. The others look at me. One step. They open a path. One step. Emma holds it tighter. One step. She crushes it into her body. One step. She backs up. One step. I see her tense. One step. She trembles. One step. She silently pleads. One step. I'm right in front of her. I hold out my hand, expecting her to hand it over. She shakes her head 'no'. I reach for the bundle of blankets. She backs up, but she's too slow. I snatch it and hold it close to me. I lift it towards my face to see what it was. Emma panics and tries to steal it from me. Larry holds her back. She starts to cry. I move the blankets to get a better view. I'm surprised at what I see. It's a baby.
Samurai's POV
No no no no! This is the worst possible thing! Gaby's gonna make me get rid of her! I can't do that! She too fragile to be left out there! I can't let her die! "What's her name." ... "w-what?" "What's her name?" Gaby repeats her earlier question. Puzzled I stumble for an answer. "Her name? Uh w-wha hm w-Willow." I literally just thought of the name right that second. Gaby seems to be processing this. "Willow huh? Well then." She turns to everyone. "Everyone, meet our newest member, Willow." Everyone seems to be shocked at what Gaby just said. "Emma will be in charge of taking care and raising her." "Hold up, what?!" Larry calls out from behind me. His grips loosens and I rip myself out of his hands. I walk up to Gaby as she hands me back Willow. "I trust you made the right decision bringing in a random baby from the forest." Gaby says. "Thank you!" I'm overjoyed with this.
Ringleader's POV (general)
In all honesty I have no idea what I just did. I have a headache, I'm tired, and someone woke me up. My brain is processed everything in slow motion. I'm literally just watching what my body did before I can even think of moving. I need some sleep. I walk away from the gathering back to my tree. I plop onto the ground and fall on my side. Completely missing my 'pillow'. I groan and lift my head to scoot the 'pillow' under my head. Once my head made contact with the fabric, z's started floating up. Finally, peace, quiet, and sleep. I have never been so happy yet so tired in my life. I wonder what today's nightmare will be!
Samurai's POV
I can't stop smiling. I look at Willow as she sucks on my finger. It's only then that Bobo comes out of hiding. Her hair is a mess, her eyes are red and puffy, and she looks like she hasn't slept in years. She walks up to me and whispers in my ear. 'You can have the room now. You need it more than me.' I nod and walk over the ladder.
